Almost acquired what looks to be your next project in a trade with Leroy. That's a great truck, enjoy.

As for the pin above....you just smack it in with a hammer. Got it.

I got up before dawn and headed an hour away and grabbed some rusted tin for my new shop sides. Unloading it was way easier than loading it.

By 9 am I was looking at Mustard 78 and trying to pick a direction.

I put some tub gaskets on then decided to get the top ready to reinstall while I have my son here to help me lift it up there.

You've done an unbelievable job! What rubber seals do you prefer for the sides and tub connection? thanks a newbie, PO had none. amonette516@comcast.net or 256 786 2244, Again great job!

You've mentioned the dizzy either in this thread or another, but I can't find it. Can you talk a bit about it? Is it a GM dizzy? Did you have to do anything with the gear or mating surface?

I’ve been by this place in Memphis. They make every one piece by piece right there.

There must have been an issue a long time ago with them because someone always seems to bring up a gear issue.

Ive never had a problem. I use their brand Live Wires as well with OEM plugs gapped at .040

I feel bad that I haven’t updated this thread since I got Mustard back to North Florida. Well....we had a couple of hiccups as soon as we got back. The hard brake line from the master cylinder to the frame decided to crack almost immediately upon my return. So that sucked. We had a false start on procuring that line and ended up having to order a set of lines from SOR. I got Rob Smith to make a few hours for me to replace the line and all seemed well. At first.

That accelerator cable really has to be routed just perfect in order to avoid getting against the manifold. When the brake line went back on the accelerator cable got into a position that allowed it to get up against the manifold and essentially smoked it causing the accelerator to take off. Not Rob’s fault since neither one of appreciated the proper placement. Luckily, he had another cable around the shop and showed up the next day and got it going. All zip tied in place and ready to roll.

Mustard is now ready to get out and mingle - albeit properly observing social distancing. Took a short trip today to the hardware store to get some bits and pieces for the skeet tower. My shooting is definitely improving during the coronavacation.

I’m always looking for ways to slightly improve these land cruisers. It’s kind of hard to improve upon what @wngrog did so far. But I did come across a really nice original Toyota rubber floor mat - including the rear mat. I already had the City Racer mat but I felt like the original version with “Toyota” stamped really belonged in Mustard. This one is in super condition and looks just right. Anyone want a good deal on the City Racer mat? Barely used...no tears.

Yesterday John showed me a good time and some good food around his farm in north Florida.

We made some near term plans to get Rotunda buttoned up and ready for the call to the OR at Mosley Motors and some longer term plans for the 💩45

It’s hard to talk in the boat but it was a bad ass ride
