What springs are you running, if you don't mind me asking?

I have several cruiser builds ongoing and had to enlist the help of my buddy @ca18sean to assist with this one. The first project was finally getting the BP51 setup installed.

Huge improvement over the stock setup that was starting to show its age. I now have the OME BP51’s on three trucks and love it so far.

Everything looks so clean and high tech. Performance is nice too with a silky smooth ride. And the overall stance looks great.

Next up a new ARB winch bumper and Come-up winch thanks to @cruiseroutfit. Still need to decide on a rear bumper setup. No need for a real rock crawling bumper in Florida and I already have a Kaymar on a different 80. I guess I may keep it stock for a while.

You always have fantastic taste. What’s the height difference with this setup?
This one has the same setup as my other truck:

1 - OME 2850J Front Coil Springs (Pair)
2 - BP5160014 Front BP-51 Shock Assembly (Extended Length)
1 - OME BP-51 Front Fitting Kit
1 - OME 2863 Rear Coil Springs (Pair)
2 - BP5160015 Front BP-51 Shock Assembly (Extended Length)
1 - OME BP-51 Rear Fitting Kit
1 - SLEE SOF1048 Caster Correction Plate Kit
1 - OME SD24 Steering Damper

However, I believe there is a difference in the rear springs. The red one seems to sit higher in the rear.

I cannot believe you have the RS3000 under the seat, those things get gremlins

Nice seat brackets, who makes them? Scheel-Mann? What’s the total cost for front seat plus brackets? What makes this choice better than Recaro seats?

The seat brackets are made by a company called Planted. This is my third set of brackets and they always work perfectly. The seats vary in cost depending on options. The cheapest is around $1300 and the most expensive is maybe $2000 or so. That is each set and then the brackets run about $100 per side.

Personally, I just like the looks of the Scheel-Mann seats over Recaro - quality and appearance.

The bumper and winch got installed this afternoon by @ca18sean. Will be replacing the steel line with synthetic rope and going with some Factor55 goodies. Looking good.

The truck is coming along nicely. I’ve been so focused on another truck that I have been a little slow to post updates on this one. I ended up going with the ARB rear bumper with no swingouts. I like this bumper because it gives me the flexibility to do swingouts in the future but for now it has something like a heavy duty stock look. Plus, no need to deal with the swingouts when opening the back lid.

So what next? The knuckles and brakes are getting a complete refresh. I bought all new Toyota rotors and EBC green pads for all four sides. We have a pretty sweet aluminum radiator to give the cooling system an overhaul. After that I will probably just enjoy the truck. I really like how it’s turning out.

Which of the other trucks are taking up your time?
It seems like all of my projects convened at about the same time. I have a 78 FJ40 that is getting a Holley Sniper setup reconfigured. The other 80 series is almost ready for the HDFT swap. The shop is waiting on a fuel tank that should be here any day now. Doing a build on a new 200 series Heritage Edition that should be here the week of the 14th. And I have a new 992 Porsche that is on the boat for delivery later this month. And also there is the PZJ77 that I just drove across the country for the 70 series event at Windrock. I'm looking forward to something that doesn't really need anything.

These seats are also shorter than the set in the red 80 series. That truck has the Vario XXL seats and they are about 3 inches taller (compared to the Traveler LR) in the seat back position. I originally thought the Vario would be too tall for the 80 series. However, I'm not sure I prefer one option over the other at this point. I think each have their pros/cons. Here is one next to the other for comparison.

Is the Traveler about the same height as the stock seat?

Have been a little late in bringing this thread up to speed. The truck is back home now and I’ve been enjoying driving it around. Had a little time today and decided to do a little work. I had a spare set of DEPO headlights from another 80 series that I wanted to install. Only problem is I did not have any bulbs in this set so I could not do much more than tear down the truck. I have a new OEM grille (not collectors edition but I figure I will hold onto the original one so it doesn’t get messed up) and it’s shiny.

I also had a spare side marker light as well. The one on this truck was cracked and holding water. Looks much better.

Looking good! I recently replaced the 40th grill on my truck with a new OEM...made such a huge difference having a nice and shiny new grill!
