Hello All!

I'm looking for an All-Terrain tyre, but the options are limited here where I live.

I'm trying to aim at the 285/75r16 size, and unfortunatelly the only KO2's available in Europe in this size are "116/113R" rated. Which I think is the one that you guys call a "D" rated tyre (not sure)? Anyway, the US site of BFG tells me that there is a "126/113R" version as well, which I guess is the "E" rated one?

Anyway, I can see that everyone loves the "E" rated ones, but will the little-brother of it, mentioned above, be enough for a 100-series?

The other option would be the Cooper ST Maxx, which interestingly everyone seems to love here where I live, but not as much on ih8mud. I could theoreticaly get those in "126/113" rating, but they're a good 30% more expensive than the BFG's, and isn't a walk in the park to source frankly.

Thanks in advance!

(ps. I'm a white lettering on the outside type of guy, so I understand if you don't want to answer:D)

That said, I also have a set of 17" rims off a 200 series (will it fit the 100?), and not sure if the "285/70 R17 121/118R" would be a better choice (KO2)?

next time im doing D rated!

i have E and feel every crack on the road viciously.

I'll probably go with nitto terra grappler next.

I don't think it's your tires man. I've been in a stock LX before on OEM Michelins with the same symptoms. Sounds like AHC is F'd. I went from OEM sized brand new Michelin LTX Defenders to 285/75/16 KO2 E rated tires and honestly did not feel one bit of difference in the ride quality. It's actually better on the KO2s over some larger bumps and cracks in the road. They are not as smooth and more notchy obviously and have more rolling resistance but going over bumps or cracks was not in any negative way affected when making the switch. I keep it at 42psi on the street at OEM weight (no steel bumpers, etc.).

I have the European KO2 285/75/16 116/113R load range C on my 80 series. It is way more comfortable than the load range D Coopers I had previously. Very plush ride, no road noise, good grip too. Very happy with them.

Regarding fitting the 200 series rims on a 100, I have 17” 200 series wheels on my LX470 and they fit perfectly, including the center caps.

Thanks hopefully that is because these 33" tires are sweet looking.

I already have rear springs to replace my 19 year old springs, and hopefully after timing belt will go for all 4 globes, i love AHC that button is so fun to push and then resets to normal stance for the comfortable ride home. Freeway driving is smooth its just city streets that lack maintance where i get that annoying cracks on the road through the cabin.

I have never seen Ko2 outside of load range E, where do you guys even find other variances? I'd like a 305/65/18 KO2 in C range if i could. E is heavy as hell.

I've owned the KO2 on a number of trucks. They were E and I never felt that they were too heavy on a 40, 80, 4th Gen Runner. I have not had them on my 100 to this point but they are my favorite tires and very durable.

I daily drive my 07LC and it's had KO2's for a few years. I like them for what it's worth.

I'm going to find out soon how well they perform in the Montana snow, up until now they've done well in Texas. ;)

Load range d - 8 ply sidewall rating
Load range e - 10 ply sidewall rating

Typically e rated tires are used on 3/4 ton diesels.

I've run Nitto Terra Grapplers on a couple of vehicles and liked them until the G2 series. Once they wore down to 1/2 life the tire compound seemed much harder and firm. It made braking under certain conditions very scary.

Since then I've been running BFG K02's and I haven't looked back. In my opinion the K02 is one of the best AT tires out there. I stopped running them when they were just the BFG K0 because they seemed to wear too fast.

I've run them on (2) Tundra's and (3) different Land Cruisers now.

Thank you very much!

Ah so the 116/113 rating isn't even the "D" load, but the "C" :(( That's sad.. Guess this explains why they don't like it here in Europe. Now I wonder why nobody imports the heavier ones..

I just had a set of ko2 mounted on my 87 fj60 in 285/70r17 in load range e. Night and day difference in noise compared to the previous 33x12.5x17 my that I had been running. No noise is pretty damn nice.

Had a set of KO2's. They did perform well in the mud, rocks and dirt.

I love them! Ran E rated on my F250, Excursion, and currently run E rated on my 3rd gen 4Runner. Rotate every 5k and you'll be good.
