Just messing around

Just found this thread for pics. Been mostly adding them to another, but mostly because I keep fixing and testing things. Here are a few from the First couple weeks of ownership from 1st off road test to camping in Goblin Valley: all in Utah.

Yesterday heading up to Bruin Point on top of the Book Cliffs. The road was still snow covered and too sketchy with old tires, and all 7 of us along for the ride. Bruin Point is over 10,000’, but we only got up above 9500’. Tried a couple weeks ago and saw 4 elk, but did not get as far. Nice hike up to a waterfall, too.

Last Photo of it before I sold it (the offer was too GOOD to pass). Time to look for a 2003+ now

You must miss the LC! I really wanted the Land Cruiser initially but the badge’s price is just out of my budget. Cut the story short, I ended up (in a very good way) with the ‘06 with VVTi and 5-speed AT and enjoying every time I used it.

$100 sleep platform
Super excited about this

3/4 plywood cut to 43” by 4’
Used turnbuckles to secure it down
2x4 to frame and support the bottom
2x4 cut to 9.5” parallel to the top of the second row when folded

Make sure the legs closest to the trunk are in an inch or 2 to clear the plastic and make sure to account for the wheel wells so you don’t have to do it twice

Got my sliders from the group buy on. My “color match” paint I ordered was a little heavy on the silver but I’ll just go over them with bed liner again eventually. I primed, Black bed liner for texture and then color painted them. Install was a breeze by myself. Took 15 minutes.

Short but sweet camping trip in Los Padres National Forest near Ft. Hunter Liggett. Started raining at 0300, but kept warm n dry. First time the trailer has seen rain, and no leaks! Rained the whole drive home (pretty hard at times), and not 1 drop of water inside! Pretty damn happy. Both LX and trailer did great!
