Hi everyone,
I am brand new to this forum. I am not brand new to the FJ40 and I have one ( currently getting a badly needed paint job)
I am 56 years old and although I have owned a variety of vehicles over the past 15 years or so, I do not have much mechanical aptitude to the inner workings of the FJ40. I am a quick study and consider myself mechanically adept but automotively inept.
I look forward to learning from what seems to be a very vast pool of knowledge of experts on everything that has to do with the land cruiser. I may not be able to contribute much but i am a good listener.
Currently I am exploring the options available of helping my kids get FJ40's for their enjoyment. There are so many ways to buy and configure an FJ40.... it's mindboggling... all the cruiser specialists out there in the USA.
Before I ask any questions of the forum members, I will will do my best to search so i do not waste everyone's time with dumb questions
John

Welcome to Mud!

Welcome aboard! That 40 probably isn't used to cold weather ;)

is that a Columbian Spec. 78 BJ40 or a Venezuelan destination market model ?

not sure if Costa Rican Spec. had the full size combonastion turn signal lamps or not , some have 70 series front fender lamps

VERY NICE truck .......................:)
thank you Sir,
I found this truck while i was visiting france quite a few years ago for sale i the country side at a winery.
I THINK it may be Costa Rican Spec but I am not sure.
I had my friend ship it over on the slow boat to china... pain in the ass.. took 3 months but he had shipped cars before and seemed to know what he was doing.

Certainly not an expert as I’m learning myself but it looks to be Colombian spec. I only suspect this as I am down here now and have seen a metric ton of these bad boys. Most are in absolute cannibal mode with parts from here and there but youve got yourself a nice one. Is that Woody in the pic also yours?
