Kind of a neat little collection of old steel weights. The TEQ version came from the earliest Toyota knitting machines from the mid to late 50s. They were hooked on hangers (far left) and were used to weigh down some knitting machine thingie-ma-bobber. Not sure what period the TOYOTA version is from, and my assumption is that it was also used with a knitting machine. Can't substantiate that though.

Anyone have info about these wrenches and pliers? They seem to pre-date all variations that have the TEQ logo inside the circle. These TEQs are inside diamonds. Maybe pre-war after the Toyoda logo but before TEQ inside the circle?

Some super old box wrenches with the katakana "TEQ" logo, probably from the 60s, very early 70s at the latest. Not sure what the character in the middle on the reverse sides means (3rd pic). Largest is an odd 23 x 26 size.

For anyone keeping score, just figured out through Google Translate what the symbol on the reverse side of the box wrenches translates to. The katakana translation is "Kyoto", the Japanese tool manufacturer which made the Land Cruiser wrenches and pliers. Thought I'd share that little nugget, you know, for when it comes up in everday conversation.

The weight with the Toyota is from the 50’s

The wrenches with the diamond as you called it is from the late 40’s ... that is a loom works logo from about then

After the spinning weaving logo of the pre to just after WWII logo

This logo is from a WWII bayonet that was produced by MrT

Loom works logo - that's great to know. Thx a ton for your knowledge sir. Gonna poke around the internet and look for other pics.

One of these days I'll pick up a Toyota sewing machine, not to collect, but to replace my wife's Singer I sold at a yard sale that I wasn't supposed to sell. Probably the main reason I spend most of my time in the garage now. 🙂

This is a very old little oil can that was available as an accessory for use with Toyota's sewing or knitting machines. Stands 3" tall.

Spangly, I'm going to fill it with 3-in-1 oil in case I need to loosen up any fetzer valves.

Guessing this "Toyota Truck and Bus Handling Manual" dated 1950 is one of the earliest Toyota manuals printed. 87 pages in Japanese text with diagrams, photos, and a couple of fold outs.

Adding to the little weight collection, with Toyota hangers attached. Position them just right and they make great mini-anvils 🙂.

I believe these KTC wrenches were included in very early Toyota vehicles. KTC opened shop in 1950, so they would have been in non-Land Cruiser tool kits from the early to mid-50s. It appears they pre-date "TEQ" and TOYOTA MOTOR embossed on-board tools. The familiar NICKEL CHROME VANADIUM is on the reverse. Note the JIS logo is absent from the 19 x 21. Curious.

Also just noticed something interesting on the steel Toyota Motor boxes. The raised lettering is noticeably more "bubbly" and the writing less defined on some relative to others. It's really apparent on the katakana logo and the outer outline.
