Where did you get grommets for AC lines thru firewall? Need to do same on mine.

Pure lanolin works like a miracle on all kind of rubbers. After soapy wash and scrub the rubber parts coat them with a liberal amount of lanolin and let them soak it in. The result is a new look, elastic feel and beefed up rubber. It works for almost all kind of rubber parts, especially those are hardened under direct sunlight.

Freshing up the heater, blower, the a/c.
The a/c receive a new core and pressure switch, new dryer and a new inlet line to the fully rebuilt comp.

I couldn’t find a “12H-T” decal that goes on the front of the rocker cover.
Is that something that nonexistent or am I just dreaming that I’ve seen it somewhere?..
I just ordered some from Mick Binns he has a FB page 12H-T Engine Modifications

I need HELP WITH an AC idle up VSV as mine is stuffed and unable to fix. I took it apart as I did a few of these vsv before but its not ceased its just not responding.
Its a ND part 084600-7160 as photo.
I also checked out the diagram bible and it brings part no 88690-90A13 is of course NLA.
Btw its 24V

First day out of the shed. The engine roars like a beast. The deep torque that grunts from 1600rpm is just fascinating.
Combined with a sound better than any music, its the wild beast that encaged in this classic shell.. no question another headturner on Perth roads.
Its still far from completion, but with all electricals sorted its definitely roadworthy now.
Its back in its original 24V setup, very straight forward. Need fill the a/c next and take care of body decal.

That is an amazing build. I just read it all again. Amazing detail. I am in the middle of an fj60 with a 12ht transplant, even white on the exterior. I don't think it will look nearly as nice as your truck but it sure gives me motivation!
Thanks for sharing.

Like many I’m not a great fan of mods but when it comes to beating the darkness I prefer the white LED lights.
I was so happy previously on my FJ40 LX and HJ47 ute running the Mil. Spec Truck-Lite 7” ribbed rounds that when I managed to source a pair of brand new 24V it was no longer question keeping this JDM 60 series the high altitude 24V version. I think the black backround twin style LED headlights make the car look blind when lights off, this Truck-Lite is the only style LED I know resemble the original rounds available.
One of the hurdles of this mod is the neg switch and low resistance issues widely discussed on MUD. I used two relays and bollock to create a plug’n’play harness.
The reasult is awesome, highs, lows and even dash high beam control lights working in addition to a very bright LED lighting to beat the dark.
Of course all the headlight hardware is brand new oem.. what else?

This is my first ever 12HT, and I must admit this is an experience I never thought it would be so amazing. I drove all toyota diesels 4cyl to 8cyl new and old but none is like this, The Legendary.
Ok, its considered a new one as I have done everything by the book and beyond so it runs smooth like a silk and sounds very unique but it has so much power and torque I never immagined. I refer to the modern common rail diesels in comparison, yet the 12HT is evolved from its 2H parent which is an old lady and would never qualify the league of the new V8 or even the previous 24valve Turbo.
This is how I feel after the first 500km carefully driven and having in the middle of the braking-in procedure. I never really tested in higher revs yet.
The turbo and the diesel pump are not really adjusted to precision on a dino yet. I am waiting another week to do first oil change and then take it to a mate at a diesel shop to do the analysis and fine tuning.
It shows raw power, grunt and strength.
The boost now is set at 8-9psi and the fuel pump is as stock as it returned from MTQ overhauling. Its idling at 650 without a/c and revs up to 900 when I switch on the a/c. All that works beautifully. Highway runs at 80km/h 1400rpm and 7turbo boost and exhaust gas exiting at 350-400C .
This time I literally just touching the accelerator pedal, which if I was pressing down (not yet) it feels that there’s plenty more of it up the sleeves.
One of my happiness and surprise was this car never leaked a drip of any (!) of the numerous fluids it has in its system.
So when I assembled it I torqued all things by the book and seemingly it has just done the trick this time. Likewise the engine its totally rebuilt and perfectly dry. The engine oil I always thought in diesels must be black, well I don’t know but its still blonde in this one after a few hundred kms.
In the Australian weather especially summer now it starts straight away, I never seen the glow sign ever to lit up.
There is an extensive “HJ61 glow” literature on MUD and I am sure unless it drives to some below freezing temperatures I would never her glowing.
Again, the 12HT is an exceptional engine and I am very happy with it. In two weeks I am planning a short trip to the countryside mainly on roads so there will be a lot to report on the 12HT performance.

Getting the original vinyl back in place using a new underlay felt instead the old one. The seats are protected by a foam based industrial canvas used for mining trucks by SupaFit. I am very happy with their seat covers and known them for many projects in past. This time I have ordered the front seats with their Made in Australia logo in blending colours.
Hope its not over the top :grinpimp:

I’ve been thinking on this even after I have obtained the decals online from cruiserworld.eu
The final touch was added by VinylWrapz and its something I won’t be regretting.
Great quality vinyl (identical to the original - permanent acrylic adhesive type) confirmed by the pro’s at VInylWrapz WA.
Now if I see the original vinyl interiour is the perfect color match to the side decal. It is however not for the DYO first timer to perform this job.
