Hood latch removal and install (1 Viewer)

Hey how’s it going my name is Jerry from New Jersey, this is my first post here at i h8mud, I just purchased a 2002 100 series and could use a little help, the hoodlatch is busted I can’t seem to get the old one out to install the new one, I’m wondering how many bolts hold it, and if it’s just pops right out with the cable, having a difficult time here.

@Jerry p Welcome! Where in NJ are you located? I have an LX so the latch would be different, but there might be other members nearby that can help you troubleshoot.

I’ve checked everywhere YouTube, google service manual etc, I can’t seem to find a diy on it anywhere, I really don’t want to take it to a body shop.

Looks like it's just bolts behind the grill.

I've had the LX off without much(i think it was four 10mm books), but I've not taken off if the LC. It's probably due for an adjustment though.

I replaced mine a few years back and recall it being three bolts facing the front bumper, as well as undoing the hood release cable and the electrical plug. If you can wait until tonight I will post up a photo of the old latch I removed and you can probably figure it out from there.
