Greetings. 1995 FZJ80.

Just finished installing a Kenwood DMX7705S head unit in my LC. Very pleased with this unit. It replaced a Pioneer AppRadio 3, which I had grown very frustrated with.

I purchased the Kenwood from Crutchfield for about USD 400.00. As usual, they were very helpful from purchase to installation.

This install required reconstruction of the OEM wiring harness, which had been cut and hacked by a Uruguayan shop yeas ago. Returning the wiring as close to OEM as possible had been a goal of mine for years.

Crutchfield recommended this harness to get things back to OEM:

Toyota/Geo Bluetooth® Wiring Harness

Worked perfectly - just cut the Bluetooth harness off and you have the OEM male connectors. I thoroughly recommend this harness for anyone wanting or needing to reconstruct a hacked OEM harness.

Here’s my reconstructed OEM harness...

Feels like I just brought the Congo Cruiser into the 21st century...Apple CarPlay; lots of features like Waze, Spotify, etc.; very nice sound (no need for an amplifier in my opinion/for my needs); great display; none of the AppRadio glitchiness.

Wiring color code for the 1995...
