a decent swap for a yn135 89 4runner RHD (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I am currently looking for a decent swap for my 89 4runner 2nd gen.
It currently has a 4y carb engine.
I want to change over to a EFI engine and get a little more power than what it currently has.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That kinda depends on what your budget and intended use is. a 7M or 2JZ would bolt up to the W trans and be a nice increase in power to just over 200hp, but expect having to be creative finding space for the radiator and fans

I was looking something smaller like a 4 cylinder with a decent power upgrade from the 4y. But easy to swap

easy to swap is a very subjective idea.
a 22RE would be fairly easy, but not much of a gain unless you get one which is a bit built. Maybe a 3RZ or 5RZ?

If you want to keep it an L4, do a 3RZ.
Don't even consider a 22RE.

3rz is an option im thinking of. just the only problem is locating one here in Jamaica for a decent price.
