Lockers are all wired up. Front engaged immediately, rear I think the actuator is stuck. I'll mess with that later. I routed the rear harness along the parking brake cable.

The toyota boot kit is nice. I got a aftermarket lspv from Amazon for 70 bucks. As usual it was tough to bleed, I dont know why 80s are especially tough to bleed. Traditional bleeding doesn't work very well it seems like. Anyway brakes feel good now.

Somehow the last owner bent the drag link so I installed a new one and new end on the knuckle side.

The old drum brake parking brake cable I tried connecting to the new disc brake axle a while ago hoping it would work-it didn't it's too long at the bell cranks. I could order a new cable for discs but then I had an idea. I cut the cable ends shorter and installed some crimp on stops I had bought a while ago. Worked great, was easy to do, and saved me some money and labor. Overall good day, got a lot done.

View attachment 1794174 Had the pdr guy pull all the dents for me. Now I'm pulling all of the trim to reduce body shop costs. I also ordered a different hood scoop. Thought about going scoopless but it's actually more work to do so and the scoop I ordered will match pretty good and look cool. Rig goes to the body shop in about 2 weeks.

Ground off the bedliner on the hood. Was a total pain. 2 hours straight of hard labor. I gave up on the cowl and am buying a junk yard one. Fixed the hood hole so it's more square and cut the air duct hole as well. Took a while to get the new cowl induction scoop nice and square.

Started doing my depo retrofit. I wanted to recreate the look the new 4runner headlights have. By strategically adding black inside the housing, the reflective surface in the light appears as black chrome from certain angles. But it's really regular chrome which reflects light nicely as opposed to if it was actually black.

On the edges I taped off and painted black.

I painted the trim ring black, I also painted the inside of it black hoping that would help reflect some blackness.

Here it is assembled minus outer trim. The high beams turned out great and give a black chrome look from most angles. The low beams still look regular chrome except from harder side angles it appears black chrome in appearance. I'm satisfied enough to not try and improve it. I think it still modernizes the look overall in my opinion. The 4runner light only give the black chrome look if u look at them at just the right angle. These seem to give it that look at more angles than the 4runner but was hoping for even better. It really has changed the look of the light to something totally different. The black will match the new paint much better than all chrome lights I think.

What retrofit materials did you use? Projectors, ballasts, etc
They are nilight projectors. They are about 30 bucks on Amazon. I have a pair on my other vehicle and they have worked well for several years. For bulbs and ballasts I'll use ddm tuning 35 watt hid bulbs and ballasts. All in without price of depo lights i should be around 100 bucks total for the conversion.
 
Still waiting on the body shop, last I checked progress was going forward pretty good. While I'm waiting might as well work on the seats. I'm getting rid of the cloth seats and going to leather. Working on the second row right now. Started on the easy to do head test. Before:

I did this on my fj40 seats and it worked well. So I think I got the hang of it. Just have to prep the leather well and let dry for a good while. If I dont go too thick between coats seems to work well. Will do the seat bottom next.
