Don`t know in which year Mr. Toyoda have stolen the name from Austin.:)
AUSTIN WORKS Pedal Cars

Before some race red cars from Modena they learned to race J40`s

The Settrington Cup is a highlight of the Goodwood Revival weekend – and not a fuel can in sight! Credit: Michael Cole /Corbis Sport
“We’ve fitted new bearings and checked the suspension geometry – these cars have a lot of toe-out which you don’t want. Then there’s the question of making sure the axles aren’t bent, taking out all the play in the steering and hubs and pumping up the tyres as hard as you dare to cut rolling resistance.”
These are the words of a historic race preparer as he readies a car for competition in the Goodwood Revival. So far, so normal.....

Two days after signing my new 2 year 45 million $ Coca Cola advertising contract I recruited a new consumer group.
Teached them to hold a Coca Cola can between their front legs and open the can with the tongue in 45 seconds.....worked.

Have sit in a Hummer in a showroom & the sales guy asked me if I want to buy one.

You guys are not so familiar with the brand Citroën....here we go.
Creativity. Technology. Boldness. In 1919, André Citroën set out on an adventure with his eponymous brand…
...some extracts.
07 July 1919
Citroën A Type car

A classic car with a 1,323cmᶟ four-cylinder engine and top speed of 65kph, the Type A is now on sale.

Eiffel tower illumated with Citroën
Between 1925 and 1934, Citroën runs a spectacular advert on the Eiffel Tower, displaying its name in illuminated letters 30m high, using 250,000 light bulbs and 600km of wiring. Charles Lindbergh used the sign to guide him as he came in to land after flying across the Atlantic.

Citroën Charleston

The 2CV gains two-tone bodywork and round headlamps with the 2CV Charleston. Originally planned as a special series of 8,000 cars, it was such a success that it became a production model in 1981.
27 July 1990
Citroën ends production of the 2CV

Presented the french automobile manufacturer Citroën some days ago &
particularly the Citroën 2CV
2CV`s nickname in german is Ente = duck.
In the 80`s the french cigarette brand Gauloises had an advertising campaign you could win some unique 2CV and Dyane.
Only one of the different models where built.

When I bought my 43 in 1980 I build it similar to this....

52e7e04e-c76e-fa38-a3c4-537f29863c53.jpg

... as fast as I could.
We could sleep in the rear, sit in the rear when it rained and cook & eat.... listen to the radio and so on.
The left foldable rear seat was removed & another small box installed.
The right foldable seat we used .
Travelled a lot with this can ... could hide the rear vinyl doors the top & the bedding in the rear under the foldable double bottom.
We could drive and sleep without the top.
All was secured under the double bottom so nobody cold steal the parts & luggage when we leaved the 43 for a while.
Fixed another box between the front boxes before we started to a trip.
The foldable double bottom was usable as a table when folded to the left.
A box behind the front seats to open on the top was another part of this construction.

All I needed was my idea .... brainstorming a pencil ...first drawing a second a...
all landed in a rubbish bin ...
s-l300.jpg

... then the last hit it and a...
images
a saw & a bit screwing. :)

ff08aa6434.jpg

Had fixed a water bag on the spare wheel.....
During a trip the first bag was destroyed by the spare wheel tyre valve.
Fixed the bag rethink this and put some rubber over the tyre valve...worked never lost water again...
...those were the days, my friend....
now the history of this can is destroyed.

Motorcycle journey in the 50`s...
you need less than you think to travel :)... enjoy the old pictures.

The end.

Damned...forgotten.. a painting...
....better late than never :)...
... an information....the 43 ( couldn't fly or swim like a " Schwimm-Ente"... boring if you not travel
but nice antiques Coca Cola collectibles in the background..love it) is on the left painting.
The ride feeling of 76 or younger cans is feeling like you drive a softie..ride feeling of a pre 73 45 is like driving a vintage truck build in the fifties.

My gone 43 on a magazine cover 2001....
DSC01838.JPG

... and all Porsches guys & so on who knew this 43 said ... would not restore it.
Lived the first 26 years without stored in a garage driven in all weather conditions during this time. Preserved it even the vinyl top didn`t leak.
The 43 saw the sunrise bevor I realised it & the moon shining when we slept....
... had no pain to drive it on salted roads.
Usable the next decades without throwing a lot money in it when stored & used as a vintage.
Was a fault to sell it... better giving it as a gift to a museum.
