1996/1997: Can I use a 8211-60840 front wiring harness in place of the 8211-60323? (1 Viewer)

Hey folks

I have a melted front harness on the portion that goes over to the alternator and brittle wires behind the batt. box. I check with the EPC and find replacement part number 8211 has a few versions.

The version EPC states for our 02/1996 built FZJ80L is 82111-60323 but it seems to come up as unavailable.
This harness is for 1/1995-1/1998

There is, however, in stock, a 82111-60840 for 40th anniversary model only it states.
This harness if for 8/1997-12/1997

So the questions are:

1. Does anyone know if 60323 is actually still avail?

2. Does anyone know if I can use 60840 instead?

3. What is the actual difference (ie: if 60840 is same but gives you something extra but unneeded, it may just work)


thoughts?
need the truck on the road by Wednesday for long ride with kids so needs to be reliable asap

So he didn’t even follow up here - more than likely he found the later 1FZ engine harness is available readily (at least it was ~yr ago when I was looking into it), it was the early 1FZ that went NLA from memory.

No idea what the 40th AE had/has that could have needed a different PN harness, and I had both 80’s - only guess could be any sort of wires for the auto-climate control that the CE & LX450 shared that a base ‘95-‘97 Toy FZJ80 didn’t have.

Thank you for the update @LINUS . I didn’t really think this was a dead end thread since it is only a few months old and not years old.

I suspect that you may be right on the climate control differences. I have an LX 450 so it may matter.
