Hey fellas, just as the title says i have a noisy air con compressor. I think the bearing is bad or something but the system still works. The weather is starting to heat up here and i want to put the belt back on and have air con. So i am wondering how i can fix the problem without replacing the compressor? Can the bearing be replaced or lubbed somehow? Also if anyone can point me to a factory fsm of the 1hz that is not on dropbox I'd be grateful. Cheers

Hello,

Drowning the bearing and pulley in grease helps.

Sometimes tightening the belt helps as well.

If the compressor is noisy while the clutch is engaged (compressor active), the compressor is nearly shagged. Can be fixed but usually cheaper for a new compressor.

If its only noisy with the clutch disengaged, the pulley bearing can be replaced with reletive ease. Do it early before it damages the snout that the bearing sits on.

Thanks i hadn't heard of that before. I think it is noisy when the aircon is on and off but I'd have to thow a belt on and check. Cheers
