Warn manual hubs
What caused this?

My suspicion is that the warn hubs dont allow the use of the snap ring c-clip that locates the axle shaft and its been able to make contact with the knuckle.

does the knuckle show any weird wear spots? i believe to have something go that blue from contact it's constant and fairly tight at that. looks like those blue spots line up with the balls inside the birfield, just an observation

It was hard to tell what exactly it was coming in contact with. I pulled the joint apart and cleaned it and rebuilt it, the balls were in good shape and there wasn't any blue on the inside

I think that's just the factory heat treat. It's normal.

My OEM birfs looked like that. I think it's normal.

If it was getting hot enough to turn steel blue I think your grease would be on fire.
