On my 74 I've had an open ended fuel line hanging out on top of the engine. It's been that way since I've had it and I've always just thought it was a vent line of some sort. The other day it was leaking gas out of it for the 1st time. After looking into it I'm now assuming it is a fuel return line. I don't have the original carb so there is no where to connect this line that I know of.
My question is can I splice in a 3 nipple fuel filter (inlet, outlet & return line) into my fuel line without causing any issues? I would just try to cap it off but with this heat we've been having I was hoping a return line would help prevent any vapor lock issues.

Thanks.

Your Rochester carb doesn't have provision for return line. If you had original carb it wood be OK.
