Hi guys, I finally pulled the trigger on a 2000 LX470 and this forum has been an amazing resource. I was hoping to get someting 2003+, but I really couldn't pass up this price. It is in pretty good shape overall, the timing belt changed only 20k miles ago, but she does have some desert racing stripes and the front seats look like their age.

If anyone has any advice for a first timer, I would gladly accept it. Or if you know an easy trail in northern Utah to cut my teeth on.

Congrats bro!

Love the racing stripes! And did it come with the sliders?

Drive it with pride man!

Get you some 33s and work on cleaning it up if you want!

Yeah, it actually came with the sliders. Tire upgrade is on my short list!

Looks great! As far as recommendations:

- Pick up a set of rear fender eliminators from @LandCruiserPhil
- Invest in Techstream and/or an OBD reader capable of reading the AHC information (ex: iCarsoft TYT II)
- Read the Definitive List of AHC Maintenance Items thread from start to finish
- Smile and slowly back away from anyone who tells you to "rip out the AHC and install OME"

Rip out the AHC and install a Tough Dog kit.

Better??? :D

EDIT: Also definitely get the mud flap eliminators. One of the best mods I've done.

Welcome to the club and your rig looks great!

I just got a new to me 2000 LC with 242k and I just did a once over the whole thing. Everyone said to replace your heater T's and when I looked into mine to replace them they broke apart. $15 at Home Depot fix the problem instantly. Oem ones are around $10 each. So much useful info on here so enjoy.
