All,

I have tried searching for the answer to this in the threads but can't find anything that helps. My 1990 FJ62 will sometimes not start. We've looked at the electrical system starter, battery etc and everything looks good there. I put in the key and it turns freely, but when you move it to start...nothing. No click no anything. One of my LC gurus said it might be the ignition barrel is worn. It is totally frustrating as it will start many times with both keys then other times it won't at all with either key. Then if you let the truck sit for a bit it will start or if I put some spit on the key it will sometimes work too. Totally intemittent and I don't know the next time I would be stranded in it.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Battery cables. Could have a good reading on battery and a starter that checks out but the cable connections are the link between the two. Take all connections off the battery and clean terminals and check connections when you put them back on. Start with easy.
