Thanks! There is however a big difference in prices. 285s seem to be a couple hundred $ more. The link you sent was great and I appreciate the info. 18" wheels are new to me since I'm an 80 guy and just recently added an '05 470 to the garage.
Also the 275 probably wont eat as much gas
Those are by far my favorite AT tires. I have had them on 3 different trucks
285/60R18 (not 65 like you requested) but I'm very happy with this size. No rub at all.

They are awesome in the mud compared to other ATs as well. Had them on my 97 that I only wheeled twice since I have a woods 80.I've been very happy thus far, great size for the LC an a great all around tire. I like the way they handle snow (both hard pack and powder) which is one of the reasons I picked them over others. If you like this tire, you can't go wrong with this size on an 18" wheel.
The 470 is my highway/ family car so it won't be an issue. I have my 80 series for off road/ over landing which we do quite a bit of.I have the ubiquitous KO2 and love them. Fantastic in wet and very good offroad. We don't have snow in Austin, TX, so can't comment on them in those conditions. One thing I will say is this: 275 width doesn't provide as much "protection" for the wheel bead as a 285 or even 295 can. That is really only a consideration if you're offroading in rocky conditions. My 275/70/18's have served me very, very well all over various CO passes and my rims have (knock on wood) seen no damage. When I go up in size, I'm going to the 295/70/18 Cooper STT Pro. The Toyos are a bit out of my price range considering I need 5 total
Just trying to make the 470 not look like somebody's mom's car.
