Looks great for the Reliability of my 2014. Very surprised by the Red categories for the first year of updated 200, 2016.

what's with the fuel system?

I think Mud members are more representative of what you can expect from your 200 series. CR shows vehicles that are either really good or really bad.

I tend to be of the opposite mindset. I think forums and social media, in general, exacerbate and over-represent issues. Just my observation.

That's my point, did not state it very well. A problem is brought up on Mud, discussed, evaluated and you get a sense if it's real or a one off. Like radiators in 2008-2011's seem to have a problem with the seam cracking at over 100k miles. Does not mean yours will, but you can keep an eye on it. CR not so much.

That’s horrible, I’m going with a Range Rover for it’s amazing reliability:rofl:

CR obtains their reliability data from the 640,000 vehicles reported on during their annual survey of members. Apparently members who own the '16 LX570 reported a higher than average number of problems they considered serious because of cost, failure, safety, or downtime for at least one thing from each of these lists:

FUEL SYSTEM: Check engine light, sensors (includes O2 or oxygen sensor), emission control devices (includes EGR), engine computer, fuel cap, fuel gauge/sender, fuel injection system, fuel pump, fuel leaks, stalling or hesitation.

BODY INTEGRITY (noises & leaks): Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, loose or cracked seals and/or weather-stripping, air and water leaks.

IN CAR ELECTRONICS: CD or DVD players, radio, speakers, GPS, communication system (e.g., OnStar), display screen freezes or goes blank, phone pairing (e.g. Bluetooth), voice control commands, steering wheel controls, portable music device interface (e.g., iPod/MP3 player), backup or other camera/sensors.

One thing that seems odd for Lexus is the trend in overall reliability from well above average in '14 to above average in '15 to average in '16. I hope that trend doesn't continue.

A significant number of 13s are getting lumped into this issue as well, fyi

There's probably eight 570's in that 640k membership. One person reports an issue and it looks like a serious problem, when it isn't actually statistically significant.

That was my first thought too.

What do you mean 'significant'? I haven't heard if many (if any) '13s have the same issue. I'm at almost 120k and haven't had a radiator issue. My oil cooler leaked, but radiator no issues.

Well... it's "significant to me! Pics of my 2013LC @29,900 miles:

Will it stay like this forever? I hope so, but I sincerely doubt it.

HTH

Anyone with a 2013 with this issue, please chime in.

2013 with 108k. Need to get a better picture, but the crack is definitely there. No clue how long it has been, I've only owned it for 2k miles.

I cleaned mine off last Friday and noticed a crack starting, just like gaijin. I'm at 75k. So two, at least. Not statistically significant, but concerning. My truck was manufactured in Dec 2012, BTW.

Where is that crack?

There's a raised rectangle on top of the radiator.. If you pop your hood you'll see it. The crack seems to form along the bottom seam where that raised portion meets the curved part. It spreads wider until it eventually blows.

The crack is at the base of the boss.
