G'Day Fella's,
A couple of years after I purchased my BJ73 (1990, so lets say in 1993 ish), I made up a replacement rear bumper bar for it.
At the time, I incorporated rectangular holes in both outer ends of this bumper, to accept the tongue of a Hi-Lift Jack (HLJ). Since then (two or three ish years ago), I seen that several commercial "Hopper-Stopper" (Roo Bar/Bull Bar) manufacturers, have started to incorporate "Tee-Slots" in their bars.
So, in anticipation of getting my rear bumper powder coated some time soon, I got to thinking......
Here's some images, of what came out of this thinking.
The end of the original replacement bumper, and the HLJ lifting hole
The 5mm thick end plates and the drawing of the Tee-Slot dimensions (please note, that it is now 15mm at the top space and 10mm at the bottom).
Machining the new, replacement end plates to size.
Marking out and drilling 10mm Dia extremity holes
To be continued.....
