He will delete your acsd as well when it's on the bench. Make sure you set your timing correctly when you reinstall your pump

What's the average cost of an injection pump rebuild? Injector service?
My ACSD (Toyota 14BT) was leaking this summer, I removed it and put a blanking plate in it's place. Everything seemed okay, but now that it's cold out, my engine smokes (blueish-white) like a mother until it warms up and my mileage has dropped off a bit. Initially I thought the mileage drop was due to the addition of a big roof rack and winterized diesel, and it may be, but the smoking is embarrassing. It all but disappears once warm, but until then, it looks horrible.
I'd be willing to ship, but I too think there should be local options, these are Bosch pumps and aren't used exclusively on Toyotas. Anyway, just need to budget for some work and would like to know what the going rate is for this service.

I concur with @mudandrock, I am in CA and used a local diesel shop who claimed they were very knowledgeable in these pumps and could do a good job. They proceeded to ask me what the specs should be set at, I ended up leaving my FSM with them. Upon re-install the truck didnt feel right, after about 2,000km I started noticing fuel in the oil which is indicative of front seal failure. It is now on its way to Okanagan, where it has been detained in Canadian customs for the last three weeks, and I have no idea if it will ever be released(anyone have a 1HZ pump for sale?). These are my two lessons learned that I am passing on:
1. Don;t use diesel mechanics in the states to work on your Toyota diesels, spend the extra time and money to find someone who actually works on these regularly.
2. If you ship out of the states don't use USPS, use DHL or more prominent international shippers.
3. Make sure there is no diesel left in the pump when shipping, I suspect mine leaked a bit, soaking the box which flagged it during customs.
Thanks for the input guys. It could definitely use a coolant heater. I was planning on putting an electric one in, so I could plug it in at home, but that wouldn't work at the local ski-hill and that's where it's the worst. When I am coming down the mountain...it never gets a load, and hence doesn't warm up until I'm about halfway home, which is about 10 miles of smoking.
I do have the manual throttle knob an do use it.
I don't think it's burning oil, it's not that blue. I think a compression test and maybe after that, injectors.

How does it come timed out of the box?!?
Maybe he sent it with the whole engine?
