Other than the cable assembly itself, what other parts should I source to reinstall the parking brake?

*PO had informed me that the cable got snagged on a stump and snapped... I’m guessing he removed everything and tossed it like so many other items I’m still discovering four years later!

Thanks ahead...

1982 FJ40

This might help , its technically a 60 set up but should be very similar

Any of the cotter pins , hair pins , and 46420 Dowel Pins Is a start . At Both Bell Cranks at each wheel

Also , 46304b the bushing at the equalizer is a wearable moving parts topic

Thanks...... hopefully these odds/ends are still obtainable

wait, wasn't the FJ40, even in '82, still a transfer case parking brake?

The Rear axle cable system was introduced along with the split transfer-case / No parking brake drum in 8/80-

ON USA TRUCKS; some global market 40 series continued to have the e-brake system on the split-case until the introduction of the 70 series. :meh:

Based on his Back-lit knob / Rheostat dimmer equipped headlight switch @imyahucklbrry has a USA Spec. truck

The NON-USA 8/80- Later parking brake drum set up is interesting

My rear axle: I see where the cables should go...

And true to my MO.... nearly 2 years later, I’ve gotten around to a planned project! Nice to have a functioning e-brake and ditch the chocks ;)
