Got my first GX470
Very happy and excited about it.
Drives great, love the power, and size.
Plan on tracking the upgrades I do on this page.

For now here are the disgusting pictures of the beloved Pig Pen...

First order of business, clean it out enough until it warms up here and I can pull the carpet and seats and clean them using a Hotsy power washer

1st question: what’s the best way to clean black grime from kids off the headliner
2nd question: where is the cabin air filter, this thing stinks!

A bucket about a1/4 filled with a little bit of Dawn soap and a micro fiber towel, I clean the girlfriends car all the time with this. For the leather, clean with a good leather cleaner and apply leather conditioners.

Awesome, thanks. I’m gonna try that too.

That looks a hell of a lot like mold.

Please tell me you're planning to keep the Frozen sticker. Interested to see what it looks like after a bath. I'm sure it's not as bad as it looks. The headliner and leather should clean up with hot water and mild dish soap.

Crusty...I like it.
Although I thought mold too when I saw the back seat..but I guess you never know. x2 on keeping the frozen sticker- that is about a 15hp/ 20lb torque gain right there.

I like the Wonder Woman sticker too, it’s on the other side just not visible.

No mold just dirty dirty little girls I guess! Haha.

Emissions today! Clorox and soap tomorrow!

This is just using a vacuum on the headliner on the passenger side, used a little soapy water on the drivers side - should have just stuck with vacuuming, it turned out better. Still more cleaning to do but as the first pass I was pretty happy.

I’m thinking the black dirt came from the window seals. What do you all think?

Before and after:

Also, replaced cabin & engine air filter. Will pick up 5-30 Mobil 1 from Costco later today. What oil filter do you guys run? The Lexus dealer is an hour away so I’m wondering for now is there a Toyota sub I can use? I

Found the nasty smell...
The back area jute was saturated with water from the tail end to about 1’ into the cargo area. Pulled it completely out with the carpeting. Will get a template of the shape and toss this nastiness. There was a rubber mat layer, then thin carpet layer, then jute later. The thin carpet layer cleaned up and doesn’t stink but everything else does. Even after pulling all of it the smell can be overwhelming at times. Trying to figure out how it got soaked and put a bowl of vinegar in the back like someone had suggested in another (funny) post about getting funky smells out. I’ll post up how it works.

There are no obvious holes and the drain tubes look clear. Windows left open???

Passed emissions with flying colors and got it plates yesterday too. Now someone please stop me from reading @DanKunz and @HomersCanyonero uogrades...I’m already daydreaming of lifting and upgrading it and I’ve already invested a ton of money into upgrading my 60 and my jeep...

Nice job cleaning it up. Hopefully, it’s not just lipstick on a pig! Lol

For a frugal lift, start with removing running boards and putting skinny tall tires 32x10 on stock oem wheels. That gives you extra clearance to wheel it.
