im looking at wheel selections. id like to use my tires as i have the 16' toyota oem rims. but will buy new tires if i have to if i go with a 17' i am just concerned about getting the appropriate offset correct. i don't run spacers i will have the 2' tough dog suspension and springs. the ones im looking at are .i want to avoid rubbing issues at all cost.

which is better the 12mm or the 7mm offset ?

Fuel Wheels D600-Vector 17x9 Bronze -12mm Offset

4.75 backspacing?? 0 offset
Method Race Wheels MR305 NV Matte Bronze Wheels with Matte Black Ring MR30578558900

6 backspacing and 25mm offset, are 18s to big i want to avoid rubbing issues at all cost

Method Race Wheels MR305 NV Matte Bronze Wheels with Matte Black Ring MR30589058925

if i go with the 17' or 18 i will be going with the BF KO2s

thanks for your help i know theres a lot of threads and i read them all they all run off

Fuel vectors will not clear the hubs in the 100 series and -12 offset is way too aggressive .. So those are a big NO.

The 17" methods with a "0" offset are too aggressive as well - stock is +60 so you will be pushing the wheel out 60mm. Any 33" tire will likely cause a good amount of rub.

Plenty of guys run the 18" method with +25 offset and either 275/70r18 or 285/65r18 with little to no rubbing.

Nothing wrong with running your oem 16" wheels - they're great. Rattle can them if you want to change the look.

Good luck

thanks! that seems to be the plan now, i just saw a really good deal on the 17 Method NVs for 170$ a piece. its a shame about the offset.

For some reason when i try to retract the winch , the engine dies. not sure if im not gettin enough cranking amps the cruiser has been sitting. anyone have any advice. i know i need to service the winch and fab up a new mount as the right side is busted. anyone know of a good cost effective fairlead i can replace mine with?

Are your retracting it with a load? Put a meter on it or watch the dash gauge to see if it drops to less than 10v or so. What kind of winch are you running?

Warn m8000, as soon as i move the switch forward or back the truck shuts off, i do not have a dual battery, and this truck is not on the road at the moment so i would asume the battery is not fully chargedhave not tested with retracting load other then a second persons pull.thanks!!

Installed trail tailors recovery points today. Really beautiful product.

You could probably find a new fairlead on craigslist for cheap since lots of people swap them out for Hawse fairleads. Or, you could take yours apart and have it zinc plated locally... perhaps higher quality than most new. For long term, aluminum hawse fairlead or delrin rollers and synthetic line would probably be the way to go.

Installed a front runner roof rack today! love it!!

Cool LC. I just got a 99 in the same color myself. What size tires are you running on the oem wheels?

Also, is that the Slimline II rack?

Had ordered a set of 5 method nv 18s from summit for 1050$ and it had taken a month to send the order so in that time i got to thinking and decided to keep my stock 16s sand and paint them and cancel the order on the methods. Not needed and i was very worried about rubbing issues and alignment issues. A weekend of relaxed work and walah

What i used
Vhc self etching primer - 2 cans purchased.
Vhc titanium wheel paint -box of 6 cans from amazon
1 can of wheel clear coat

Some variety of sandpaper and
I prepped with sonax wheel cleaner

My winch mount was rotted on one side , when i came back from a long drive it was hanging on by a thread. Pulled the wires and pulled the winch. Will fabricate a new mount later down the road
