I was on the fence about whether to recover my front seats or have them repaired and died. If I could
have gotten a response from lseat I would have gone that route, but that did not happen. $300 for skins
and $400 to $500 for labor seamed reasonable. Other than that it was probably going to be $1200 +.
I decided to have them dyed and they came out pretty good. How they hold up is anybody’s guess.
For $250 I thought I would give it a shot.

What are you guys using to dye the leather? Does it come off on your clothes? I’m not looking to dye the 100, but my Benz. It comes with silver leather, on a silver car. Looks horrible

Hi mate, I did this on my LX. It bought me time, not a permanent fix.

Everytime you condition the leather, (which was frequently for me with Meguiars as I like the leather factory soft), a layer of dye would come off. It also made the seats feel like plastic and a little rough.

I ended up having Lexus recover them with OEM leather at great expense. No wrecked LX's around in OZ readily available and every recoverer I looked up could not match the nice ruffling/crinkling.

Your job looks good, maybe scout out a wrecker in the meantime.

Doesn’t come off on clothing and have lasted on other vehicles I’ve used.
Here’s my LX

I just had my 99 done with a local guy. He charged me 300 per seat and replaced the console cover and redyed the door panel for free. I wish I had taken some before pics. They were looking pretty bad.

Very interested in this. I'm up north of ATL too. Was that $300 material and labor per seat? Did they have any leather options?

Mongoose. He didn’t say if he had any options or not. I’m sure he does. I told him to match the stock leather I had. He runs about a month before he can get you in but when he does he gets them done in a day. The business is pro street interiors. Blairsville Georgia. The owners name is Shawn. It’s a little family run business. Also I spoke with another customer that was there and he said if you offer him a little extra he will get you right in and out quickly. I was real happy with mine.

Yes. That was material and labor. That was only for the bottoms. The backs looked fine. And my seat heater still works! This price was per seat.
