First Post. Bought a 95 lc 5 weeks ago. Have been lurking here for about 4 months. Anyway, got the running boards off but I don't know how to deal with the bottom of the front fender flares. Took the black cover off. What do I do about the piece that it was attached to? And thanks already Y all have been a huge help!

You can leave it, trim it or trim the piece you removed depending on your OCD. LOL.

There is mythical piece/mud flap for non-running board variants.

Search here and you will find others solutions and homebrews.

Easiest solution is to trim the black piece you removed until it is flush with the bottom of the fastener that sticks out from the flare, then reattach. Don't worry, its only a matter of time before you are flareless with 37"s.

The front mud flaps for 93-97 with flares are:

Most trucks came with running boards, so the mud flaps aren't as common to find parted out. They are about $65 each new.
