Need to push steering shaft into firewall an inch or so, help (1 Viewer)

Trying to get my steering box out. All the hardware is out, when I lift the box to get it off the pedistol, it almost comes off but keeps pushing right into the ragjoint and steering shaft. How do I push the shaft threw the fire wall a bit so I can get the box out ?
Is it just the bracket under the dash or is there more to it ?

year would help.
later trucks have four fasteners around a flange inside the fire wall and two more under the dash.

How are your fender bolts? If you loosen the fender it’s easier to get it out

Yup just figured it out and got the steering box out. Bracket under the dash and the 4 bolts on the fire wall
Johnny I got the fender off put still had trouble before cus the shaft has kinda not letting the box come up far enough off the studs on the pedistil (sp). Move the shaft through the fire wall an inch or two and it came out easy.
