All my rubber was done 1.5 years ago just as I described and is still perfect. Short sections, and don't get in a hurry. Use the tube tip to spread the glue as you apply it. Brake cleaner is fine on a rag just don't go crazy. I did it on fresh paint.

I used this stuff to remove the excess 3m adhesive.

I didn't pre-clean any of the weatherstripping. Just take your Time!

rubbing alcohol or denatured?

I always have a gallon of denatured around for general cleaning so that's what I use.
