Took my deer rifle for a drive, it was an amazing fall weekend, some snow, a night at the seldom inn, some giant grouse, and a successful trip home......

Camping out in WV. Rocking about 14 mpg and at times, 35 mph in third gear up the mountain, with flashers a flashin’. A 383 would make that a wee bit more enjoyable, yet less-cruiser like....what a first-world problem to ponder. About an hour from home the alternator stopped alternating (seems to be a trend, as it’s the second time this happened on long trips) so I reckon I need to look into that. Otherwise, my epoxy plug in the radiator hole held up like a champ.

Finally replaced the oil pan gasket that has made a mess of my driveway. What a PIA! It turns out that big floppy gaskets are not only big and floppy, but also tough to suspend overhead. Lessons learned. Hopefully, I will not be reposting this anytime soon.

Despite the temporary frustrations, completing these weekend projects has been tremendously satisfying and makes me appreciate my sweet ride even more!

Also, if the forecast says no rain while you're working on your truck, prepare for rain.

I caught 3 chum and one white spring salmon. Smoking something else for a change is nice.:smokin:

Put in a larger intercooler. Mounted the kayak and bikes, went down to town lake with the family then ate a delicious meal while the F1 was going on.

Number of projects.
Had to figure out a different way to attach the 270 manta awning to my INTI rack. Being that I have no welding skills, I purchased 4 T Brackets and doubled them us to encrease rigidity to handle the weight. Will see how it holds up on out Yosemite trip this weekend. If need be, I'll beef them up a bit more

Also removed skid plate to measure for equilizing hose between tcase and Tranny, being that I have an oil leak, I'll be replacing the seal and boot on the 4x4 linkage/shaft.

What are these two wires? The two which are cut and coming out of the bolt.

That would explain why the 4WD light no longer works. Thank you

Went with a bunch of students on a field trip to south Alabama. Paddled a river and caught critters.

Last night got together with @roma042987 and we compared engines and suspensions of our 60 series. All it took was a short drive and I'm liking the 12HT.

Installed new dizzy VCV (part #90925-03192), had alternator rebuilt at a local shop (new brushes, bearings and some other electrical thing replaced), and mounted the AC Delco charcoal canister (patented zip-tie strap system). best kept secret - red powder coat adds 5.4HP and 3.6 MPG.

Was going to go to Yosemite this weekend but pinging in engine due to timing issues. The FAM ignition co is so large that it blocks the timing door
Hitting Pismo on veterans weekend hopefully.
