I re-did my flange holder and cranked the pinion to 170 foot pounds. Little torque wrench read zero. I cranked the pinion to 180 foot pounds. Little torque wrench reads between 7 and 10 inch pounds. The little beam wrench is a bit hard to read. No play in the flange now. Has about the right feel. I filled the diff and bolted the drive shaft back on. Test drive tomorrow. Did not see 2nd gen post in time. I spent a fair amount of time on that site beforehand.

Test drove tonight for about 40k. All gears, speeds up to about 85kph. No unusual noise that I can hear over the engine, tires,etc. Diff gets warm but not hot. I can touch it no problem. Leaks a bit from somewhere near the top of the carrier housing. I might try to get a new breather also.
