I installed some OEM turn signal lights. The old aftermarket units have been on there since before I bought it in '91.

I don't need a wallet, John... I have an FJ40.

But, he does beautiful work and has a lot from which to choose!
He could likely put a picture of your 40 on one :D

You may notice how thin my wallet is... I've got a 40, a Crestline Ambulance, and a family. It never seems to have much in it.

my sister and her fiance arrived last night from the UK. with them came something ive been waiting for for over a month...

they look awesome and even in the day they are bright. will hopefully get to test them tonight on the way home from work.

just as a side note, anyone know how many lumen these are? checked on the website but there was nothing on the technical specs

It's hard to find metric yellow zinc locally. White zinc are plentiful.

So my solution is to make my own. I dip the white zinc in this erudite solution and in a minute or so, they come out nice and yellow.

However I have made the decision from now on, im going with the kits from overland metric. Screw doing this anymore. Lol...

But it's nice in a pinch and the solution lasts along time.

My solution to the infamous fuel line grommet located in the floorboard.
The oem grommet is nla. But the one for the front firewall heater hoses is plentiful. So I simply make the one in the floor the same size as the one in the firewall. 2.25 x 1 1/8 ". Iirc.
A bit of measuring. marking, Die grinding, and installing. Job done!
Oh, and a bit of paint on the cut edge to prevent future issues.

I've been supplying these OEM bolts as part of the thermostat housing kit for some time. The kit is tentatively sold out, but I still have 3 bolts left. After seeing your post, I think I should save these.

And dumb old me for years have been using a rubber hose as a grommet!

Fantastic solution!
Dumber me stuffed pipe insulation around the hoses. :hillbilly:

Kept working today...
So all in all for today, I got the floor fuel grommet installed, gas tank straps finished and mounted, front seat frames installed, front seat drivers side installed, passenger seat bottom installed, threw on the rear hitch for fun, bolted up the has inlet pipe cover, hooked up the fuel line to the gas tank, made two trips to ace hardware, and sat my ass in the driver's seat for the first time since last October. :)

Here's a shot of the drivers seat installed. You can see when I adjusted the seat backwards it exposed as area that didn't get powder coated. I touched it up with some gloss black.

Getting closer...

Ok. Elaborate. I can't find "erudite" referring to a chemical process. Gotta be an autocorrect typo.

I bought one of Dave's gold sets with the organizer for my frame off. Absolutely loving it!! Highly recommend it, simplifies everything. Wish it had more 10x1.25 nuts though.

From this
to this
and hopefully to this
It is amazing that a month ago I was running my 78 FJ40 cruiser, it's all gone, everything has been taken apart and the fun begins to put it all back together with new bearings and seals, cleaned and painted, rust and road salt proof. I'll be returning the chassis to stock from a 2" leaf spring lift, the donor frame from a 63, a 78 cowling with attached Aqualu 3/4 aluminum tub. The hard top cap and fenders will now be 6V7 as the rest of the truck. A 77 FJ40 parts truck coming tomorrow will help in the rebuild. But as of today forward its cleaning the axles, engine and transmission/transfer and installation of new bearings and seals.
