Everything's been blasted, epoxy primed, sanded, 2k primed, wet sanded with 800 grit, and washed.

Ready for paint now.

Gettin there...

I think I invented the best way to clean old rubber on these Toyotas.

I used a Mr. Clean magic eraser soaked in acetone.

The results speak for themselves. This was after about 3 minutes of work.

Taking a break from buffing....

Installed my newly powdercoated roll bar. Used pretty grade 8 zinc fasteners.

Also installed my new roll bar pads from @fjgoober (fj40dash.com)

Transmission hump/cover is loosely set in place. I did install a new gasket on the bottom of it. Waiting on new fuel lines and new stainless JIS hardware from @davework (OverlandMetric.com) before I bolt it down. He was very nice to work with, and I will definitely be buying a full kit when I begin my next restoration.

Does it not dry out the rubber?

I think it would if you soaked it for a long time. It certainly dries the outside, though you could condition it with silicon or glycerine. I've got a big thing of glycerine based baby lotion that does a good job of keeping rubber soft.

Made some gas tank pads out of Oatey PVC shower pan liner. Glued it down with clear RTV.

Assembled my fuel door hardware, which is freshly cad plated, with new OE bumper from Beno, and stainless steel fasteners.

Also installed fuel door, gas tank, and fuel sending unit.

Got my new front fenders from CCOT primed in 2K, wet sanded, painted, and clearcoated.

Also disassembled the air cleaner assembly I got from @offr0adlim0 and sand blasted it, in preparation for powdercoating.
