This is a big job but you are getting there. I look forward to seeing you get it completed!

Swapped fuel pumps from ls400 to fj80, same exact design. 100% direct swap from one bracket to another.

I will be joining to a y pipe and uploading pics of the passenger side once completed. I need to get a muffler as I will n running single exhaust to the rear

Also had to cut out rotted pass side front body mount support and repair. Cut out section with plasma, welded in base, then welded sleeve to washer, welded internal plate on top side, inserted sleeve and welded together top and bottoms, ground flush, welded on another 90degree piece that was broke with a metal brake..... not very pretty, crude but very structurally reinforced.

The body mount itself had fused the bolt to the mount from bAttery acid. Dont have pictures to upload, but ended up drilling the bolt out of it, was not paying Toyota dealer $130 for one. Took 2 hrs, a drill press, and a drill doctor to resharpen bit 20 times.

Had to retrofit the sending unit from the LS400 in to the fj80 today. The ls unit was completely different, had to re Bend the bars, cut and adjust. The float was on the opposite Sid of the bar, had to bend the other way and test. Re soldered the wire terminations and test ran sender. Had to install standoff for the mounting bracket as the float hit the slosh guard.

First picture is finished product.
Second is fj80 assembly
Third is ls400 assembly
Fourth is side by side

BIG PROBLEM TODAY. Had to replace the ecu, it started acting funny throwing codes. Opened it up and found the capacitors faulty, leaking and some weak. Will be installing interior stuff and radiator tomorrow, bought a new flexalite fan and will install so I can fill with water to do a "dry" run before filling with expensive coolant.

A common problem with those ECUs, I hear.

Ended up having to buy a flex a lite 3000 cfm fan, the Taurus fan I acquired was faulty and one blade cracked. Pic shoes clearance of fan and motor, I will be building a shroud of metal soon, and will post pics when done, but for now to test run engine I will keep as is.

Utilized the stock ls400 bottom hose for radiator, however top had to be cut, and I was able to repurpose the stock fj80 hose coupler to fit without buying new hose. Was not 100% fit, but close enough.

Why not use the LS fuel pump on the 80 bracke, sender, and float? You are still using the 80 tank and fuel gauge?0

The sending unit was a different setup, it appeared it was not compatible. Correct me if I am wrong. I was not able to make the fj80 sending unit work. and no, I am using the cluster from the ls400.

Made a fuse box in the engine compartment to house the ls400 fuse block out of an ammo box. Cost effective. Made base out of heavy grade stainless steel, welded bolts to the plate, then attached to fender. Silicone and self tappers to secure plate to box.

Awesome..... it was more then powerful to move fj80. Lots more stability with less weight and lower center of gravity. alternator was not charging higher than 12.3v and battery took a dive. Had to swap batteries to get home.

I would do this Swap again in a heartbeat.

Went to chiva falls in Tucson and had a blast.

Wheeled it a bit hard and bent the passenger coil spring tower. Popped the spring out and had to get back on while on trail.

I need to come to the desert and have you do a 1UZ swap for me! My 94 LS400 has almost 300k miles, never had a running issue besides the ECU.
