this is what I am doing right now. I have a 93 volvo 960 wagon. It holds just about as much as the cruiser, is really comfortable, gets 25mpg at 75mph, and it has a very solid I6 auto tranny combo. I've put 21,000 problem free miles on it in the last year, and hopefully in another year or so...
man, what a sweet project. I really wish I still had mine........one of these days I'll get another. Karl, have you become more familiar with the engine and it's mess of vacume hoses now that it's out of the vehicle?

if you adjusted your idle at all, did you adjust the correct screw on the backside of the carb?? Or did you adjust the A/C idle up screw on the front, thinking it was the idle adjustment? I did exactly this when I first bought my cruiser, and it responded exactly as yours is doing......idle...
haha, had a woman approach me yesterday saying that her parents wanted to buy one, and wanted to know how I liked mine. Told her I loved it, and showed her the inside. When I told her it was an '85, and had almost 203,000 miles on it she couldn't believe it. It made me laugh inside.
I don't know if it's because I just washed and detailed it it, and got it looking really good....but this week I have been getting tons of comments on my cruiser. 3 today alone. How many comments do you guys get on yours on a weekly or daily basis??:)
I get between 10 and 12 driving around town, but I drive at most about 15 miles a week, so it's ok. On my last highway trip to Salt Lake I got about 16, and that was with ski's on top, gear in the back, cold temps, and using the 4hi on the icy parts. Best ever is between 17 and 18 when I drive...
