OK, driver side tail light signal now does not work. Nor does signal driver front. Then, when I turn on head lights and step on brakes, the rear driver tail light goes out? Help! Bulbs are new, but housing is rotted out. Could it be a bad signal switch in column? Or???:eek:

I loosened the cable housing and the wire, the butterfly was bound up, I lubed it, got it to move freely. Then I pulled the choke out fully, closed the butterfly, tightened both the wire and cable housing and truck fired up fast on the first try! Thanks to all.:clap: Mike

The cable works fine, but the linkage seems bound up somehow. Is the choke cable set up on the carb on a warm or cold engine?

I'm cranking the motor with starter to get the spark. The spark jumps 1/4" and is a thin orange spark. In an old 12V Chevy I have the new coil will jump a bright white spark 1/2" and crackle!

Replaced front suspension bushings and had it aligned. Rears get done tomorrow. The rubber bushings in it must have been the originals, the shackles and pins were encrusted with petrified rubber. Cleaned them up and installed new polyurethane bushings. :steer:

The mesh filter in the carb was filled with some real funky fiber and some chunks of clear silicone... I also rebuilt the carb replaced the float and now it runs like a champ!:D

Just a thought I had this morning: I ALWAYS use premium gas due to the age of the truck. My son put a full tank of regular in it on the last fill up... Think it could be ping due to the lower grade gas? I'm going to try some octane booster and see if it clears it up...
