Ok, i realize this is a lame question.
My distributor isn't tightened down. I thought the bolt to from the top down would do it, but that bolt already seems very tight. I found (by feel) another bolt underneath the distributor that kind runs horizontaly underneath it. I can't seem to get...
She runs again! Actually runs quite well. At first it stumbled in 4th while comming up to speed. Quckly realized the dizzy is kind loose! Found the right timming and runs like a champ.
But a new problem arose. I haven't been able to get a wrench on the dizzy bolt yet. Tried various means...
I was getting fuel out of the line at the carb. Carb needed to be rebuilt anyway.
I sent it off to Mark's Off-Road.
I've rebuilt plenty of motocycle carbs,a nd even a quadrajet once. But this one just annoyed me from the get-go. Getting it off the rig was a chore in itself.
The stock carb on my rig stopped flowing fuel. I was looking for the best ideas to repair it. Originally I thought I would just rebuild it, but it looks much more difficult than I would have thought. If rebuilding it is as hard as removing from the truck it should prove to be a nightmare...
I belive I have everything disconnected to take the carb off. The carb rotates in each direction, and seem s loose. However there appears to be something in the center holding it. I do not see any external screws/bolts. Am I missing somthing or is it just stuck on a stubboran pin or something?
My 3/79 is sadly in need of new springs. She is sitting on worn stock springs and 31" tires. Trying to convince the wife that we should put Smokey Mountain 2.5" springs on her. She doesn't want it lifted. I figure keeping 31" tires, with fresh springs she shouldn't be all that much taller...
I just had mine redone in town here two weeks ago. They got a new core, and reused my tanks..Worked great.
I have a 3/79 that has A/C so was nervous buying one from one of the on-line sources, because I couldn't get a guarentee would fit. Also couldn't determine the exact differance between...
The PO of my 79 removed the skidplate, and never reinstalled it. It looks to me like it bolts to the frame through some threaded holes? That sound right? Since he didn't provide the hardware to reassemble it, can someone tell me what size & lenght bolts required, also size of washers? The...

I'd just keep looking...Try here, a drive would be worth your while a digital camera would do wonders, and one of these cruiser heads who lives close would probably go look at it for you.
Well this is getting disappointing. I'm not interested in V8 conversion, so stuck with H55 or nothing. You would think that someone has come up with a cheaper system to get a 5spd mated to a 2F. The Aussie deal sound great, but is quite cost prohibitve.
Oh-My, that is the expensive route huh! I was hoping there was something available out of a US Toyota Pickup. Going to have to research the NV4500 some more now..Would like the 5th gear, but geez, $3k!
