    BJ40 + BJ40 = 100%

Not sure exactly why I did this, as I really don't need another project, but a senior brother to my 1978 BJ40 has just landed in Oregon. 1975 BJ40, LHD, 12V, ex Costa Rica from Angel at Ebay (GoldenDays91). Now that I have two in the toy barn to play with, the biggest issues are: * After...

    BJ40 Where is VIN located?

BJ 40 valuation - well I have two BJ40's right now in Oregon, both purchased ex Costa Rica on Ebay in the last six months. One is a 1975 and the other is a 1978. Purchase price, importation fees and transport from Miami to Oregon - I figure I am averaging $18,000 each. Your mileage may vary.

Some serious value in a restored bJ42, I would want to hang on to that one.

    Worth it to import BJ40/BJ44?

Based on my experience, sea freight, customs clearance, storage and onward transport to final destination will run $4000 to $6000 USD. So really its not worth the expense unless the vehicle is in excellent condition to begin with. If it's simply a cheap rust bucket in Japan - well it will be a...

    My new 78 BJ40

LasCrucer - Honestly I don't know as I am 6000 miles away and wont even see the truck until May. A buddy of mine took care of the receiving in Oregon. The seller advertised as 'no rust' - and it does look to be in excellent condition - but seeing is believing of course. The 'pockets' on the...
