For some reason this diagram and explanation of the “pin state” at each switch position clicked for me.
My heating elements are showing the same resistance on both driver and passenger. I think I have a weak ground on the driver’s side causing the Orange/Hi indicator to light up on Lo mode...
Thank you! I’ll give all the connectors a very thorough look tomorrow. I am 98% sure I did when I cleaned and greased them all, but better to double check while it’s all torn apart. The eyes aren’t exactly 100% anymore.
Any other adjoining circuits I need to inspect?
I’ve checked the wiring, the switch, the added pins. Problem doesn’t follow the switch. I’m definitely going to pull the passenger seat tomorrow and try to swap them around, or at least jumper from the passenger seat plug to the driver’s seat. If the problem follows the seat - there’s my answer...
I de-pinned the connector so I had less assumptions and made the connections to the correct leads for the two heating elements (back and bottom).
When only the Lo circuit is hooked up, the Lo side lights up as expected. As soon as I tie in the Hi side I get both lights on the switch, as seen...
So, here’s what I’ve done since encountering the issue.
Cleaned up the switches and connectors with QD Electronic Connector Cleaner and a pick, then re-greased and verified good connections and continuity in the switch harness.
Swapped switches - problem didn’t follow switch.
Then, after...
Odd behavior all of a sudden on my driver’s seat heater wiring - I bought the truck with this mod already done and everything worked like it should.
Out of the blue, I started getting some Hi/orange illumination when Lo/green is selected on the LH/Driver’s seat only. Swapped the switches and it...
I am in the closing stages of getting my interior back together after taking it completely apart to clean, change out all the bulbs, and rebuild my automatic climate unit and I’ve hit a snag.
The LH seat heater switch is acting funky.
The green Lo indicator is intermittently illuminating...
Ok…I’m dumb.
My real problem is that Kicker 4” speaker is massive compared to the stock speaker.
Anyone know a good replacement for the stock speakers so I can run the factory system with amp?
I’ve measured the thickness of the backing board and I think the 1/4”/6mm T50 staples are too long for this application.
What has worked to reattach/secure the door panel material to the backer for others?
I guess I could, was just hoping someone had a good used one for $5-10 versus giving the stealership money or ordering online and waiting a week.
I’ve been working on this truck to get it ready for sale for 3 months now and I’m in re-assembly. Time is of the essence.
