I finally put two and two together on who you were. Congrats. Was good seeing the cruiser out this weekend. Be careful on those KO's. They are probably pushing 10 years and can start cracking. The KO2's have been out for 8-9 years. Heck the...
Biggest issues that I never really thought of is most shop wont install customer supplied parts and or they won't install aftermarket parts. I can understand. We are that way with some things. We do charge more for customer supplied parts...
I'm in. Bringing my daughter. Ironically I'm coming up there tomorrow to stay with my brother for the weekend. So two weeks in a row. Don't know if a relic will be ready but will be in something.
I just wouldn't trust a cheap set of upper control arms. I think ironman makes some good suspension products for the price. I used to sell the heck out of it for a long time. But after going through disaster after disaster with two wholesale...
Yes. It did have a blown head gasket but it was just starting to fail on #6. It did have what I thought was a miss. Which was probably the torque converter out of balance. The snout had some grinding done to it as well.
More pics. You can see how hot that spacer ring got and how many attempts they made trying to stab the trans in and bashing the alignment pins up against the bell housing.
Unknown history on this 97 40th we have at the shop. 270k. Inspection with borescope showed rear main leak. Removal of trans showed a very different yet puzzling set of issues. Upper pan is cracked in several places where it meets bell...
Put a borescope in it and look at everything. I can't ever remember just putting a new set of rings on a motor without honing the block. Also carbon buildup can cause all kinds of issues.
The lx450's had a different clock spring for the steering wheel allowing for the addition of telephone controls. You might see if that might work. I believe it was a separate 4 pin connector on the clock spring.
The company we use for our injectors started sending them back to us with green orings. After two sets we had leaked we switch everything back to Toyota orings and no leaks. We always use a little dielectric grease on them.
Looking for a late model fj40 parking brake handle bucket. This would have been on 79-83,4 fj40's. I managed to lose the only one I had. PM me a price shipped to 29681 please if you have one.
Thanks
Marshall
Doesn't look like metal. Usually when they go they go quick. There really isn't a chance for the carnage to get into the oil. If it's just a bent valve consider yourself lucky. What we saw was when the spring broke it dropped the valve down...
Did he use factory tundra cv's. Not reman but factory new? We have quite a few Tundra lifts with oem tundra cv's and I haven't heard about issues with boots tearing. He never had this issue except this past year. Something else has to be...
We have had a 14 come in with a broken spring. Same exact symptoms as described in first post. Though we didn't try to restart and used a breaker bar to attempt to see if motor was free. It was in only one direction. Pulled plugs and one...
We have the GE profile set. First set lasted 8 years but they were both scratch and dent ones with the dryer needing to be beat back in shape to work. They worked well untill the washing machine on high spin decided to come apart. I thought a...
Drove the Trollpatrol up to Tryon Saturday and winched a monster red oak burl about 50 yards out of a ravine. Had to weigh a good 3k or so. I’m surprised the frame didn’t rip in half because I broke all kinds of recovery gear getting it out...
@Trollhole can probably be of assistance. His shop is in SC. How to get in touch with me. - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/how-to-get-in-touch-with-me.597873/
