Ran Tie Rod Bender last Saturday. First time taking this truck out and it’s pretty solid although I am pretty sure the front locker has a broken pin in it based on having broken a couple of lunch box lockers in my 40 many years ago. The trail was kinda gnarly with ice and mud on it.
In my infinite wisdom 20 years ago I chucked out my OEM dizzy and threw a Mallory on it. Smart right? Whatever.
Fast forward, the 40 is now my son’s Plantman the dizzy is eating itself (full of metal shavings, that’s bad, right?) and he’s working on solutions.
I’m curious to see if you find...
This is my currents set up for road and trail travel. HiLift and spare driveshaft are between the 2nd row and the tire, shovel on one side during the winter and all of the rest of my crap is in the box on top of the 37. Easy access to the Yankum Rope on the right.
(I just talked the...
This is basically the same set up I have. Although the :princess: wants a drawer system and a sleeping/dog platform in the back. That means the spare will be going to back outside.
I've run most of these obstacles down there at Barnwell Mt. and there are some difficult stuff like this that my son Plant Man made me look like a novice. He is running 35" Goodyear MTR's and I've got 37" Pitbull Rockers. Oh yeah, he has open diffs.
My extra clearance is great but his tires...
Plant Man taking some exact measurements to create his own spare tire carrier.
This is the last time I used mine. After being a moron and getting it stuck right there I had the bright idea of having a friend push me with his 80 and it bent something. I moved it inside after that but it’s going...
Oh yeah, RoaringFork , I have no body lift. I had a ‘92 Toy truck that had a body lift and that screwed lots of stuff up. I don’t ever want one of those again.
My white 80 on 37’s and 6” springs with some light fender massaging on the front and 3.5” lowered bump stops on the rear.
37’s on mine, 39.5’s on militruse’s, 285’s on Plant Man’s LX and 33’s on the 62
Front full stuff
Rear full stuff
Flat stance.
That’s an easy fix if that’s what it is. I’ll give it some tweeting tonight on the way home see if I can get it any better.
That is what feels like is going wrong.
It shifts based on my throttle position so it is from 2krpm to over 4krpm. It’s shifting correctly while in D. When in L it behaves exactly like it’s in D.
Probably.
RoaringFork,
I read that Lcool article a few weeks ago and it’s a good write up.
I did adjust the shift linkage so it was...
