Hi Everyone, I have a 79 fj40 that I want to take in and have a shop go over the motor, adj carb, valve job etc. Anyone know a good reputable mechanic or shop in the Snohomish. Everett WA area? It might be to the point of needing a rebuild depending on what they think. I got a quote of $6300...
I have been restoring my '46 ford tractor so havent been working on the cruiser much...it is summer and I want some hard half doors. A while ago I bought a hard top and doors. The fronts are in perfect shape..no rust any where. I HATE to cut these up as they are hard to come by but I have looked...
My cruiser came with that setup on it....took it off so I could put on some fancy bumperettes it has been sitting in my garage for 3 years...I can tell ya though...they are rock solid and weigh a TON. Might put it back on after I saw how much they cost...I feel quilty not using it.
Les Schwab has them. I had them mount a 16" on my cruiser for kicks to see what they looked like. I went with the 15x8. Price for teh 16x8 wasnt much more than the 15" backspace was fine on both sizes.
I gave him a list of stuff I was interested and he said he would sell what I was interested in seperate from the rest so I sent the cash...been a few weeks and I havent heard back so I am hoping he has just been busy and I am not out the money.
Anyone heard from cruise77 or get anything from this post?? I heavent heard back in a long time on some stuff I got so just wondering if anyone else heard anything..
Here a few pics...I know these arent going to tell you crap....but I am in the middle of moving so all my tools are in storage so until I get over there for my wrenches I cant get the air cleaner off to take any real pics. I will most likely throw it up for sale after I get a good rebuilt stock...
need '79 aircleaner with all the hardware
Trying to resmog my cruiser and need to dump my webber. I need to find a stock air cleaner assy and all the goods that go with it. Need the heat shield that goes above the cat converter.
also I have an extra set of near perfect late model full doors...
looks good...what front seats do you have in your cruiser...they look different than stock. your 40 looks like a '79 or newer tub. I have a 79 and am looking for seat mounting ideas. There is a ton of info and ideas/pics for the older tubs but havent seen much at all on the newer tubs.
