    Help with brake issue

I have done the rebuild kit with no success. It is getting complicated to find the right parts for the early LC. A lot are simply no longer available. In the end, I have ordered the whole master cylinder assembly but without the pump and accumulator. The thinking is that they have been replaced...

    Help with brake issue

The car is a RHD Auto HDJ 100 4.2 TD from 1998 which I have owned for many years. A few years ago I replaced the pump and accumulator and also did the piston servicing kit. The issue is that I sometime have a brake pedal that progressively goes to the floor. Note that on the floor the car stays...

Sudden AHC leak and failure far away in Uzbekistan

I think the temporary repair of the line should be relatively easy with local mechanic. Obviously much better to get the original part. Did you also order AHC fluid from partsouq ? From experience, brake fluid eats into the membrane in the sphere. This will only further harm the AHC. The only...

Need advice - keep AHC or AHC delete?

I had the same issue with corrosion on the dampners. They aren’t expensive from partsouq or equivalent. I am a big fan of AHC as I do only very occasional off road and the comfort is hard to beat. Properly maintained the AHC is very reliable.

Opinions on undercarriage pictures 2006 Land Cruiser

It is strange. Usually the frame is attached first and unibody is clean. It does look like it has been coated with something (my unibody is same colour as rest of the bodywork) as it appears black. Is it just these two spots ? How is the rest of the frame. If local, i would see it in person.

    AHC, back really high

Is that the same sensor across the two front and the back ? My AHC has been acting funny last weekend. Deciding to stop working after a 2 month hibernation. Next day normal service was resumed but I decided to change the 3 sensors and the AHC pump to ensure reliable service. Also what the final...

    What strategy for hdj100 4.2

I have owned my 4.2 ‘98 hdj 100 for about 12 years. It has 180 000 miles and is religiously maintained. I plan on keeping it as long as possible. I am trying to slighty improve performance and also extend reliability. Car is based in France. I am concerned the turbo is getting a bit long in...

LX570 AHC Rear Coil Spring Experiment

Did you consider simply adding a spacer. That is the very cheap mod to increase the weight your stock springs can carry

AHC Help messed up while doing testing

I think tou may want to re-index the torsion bar at the front. That will give you plenty of adjustment. It’s quite frequent the rear pressure remains a bit high when tou have all heights at correct level, this is due to rear springs sagging over time. You can switch for beefier springs or add a...

    Thoughts on warping Rotors ?

I think there is the possibility as outlined above that issues with bearings and bushes in the suspension are the root cause of it. If that is in order, I think warpped rotors are rare and mostly due to residue. That is if the rotor isn’t moving in any way vs the caliper.

(URGENT) Broken auto gearbox in Arabian peninsula

Hi Artisan, From the facts you provided, it looks obvious that the cheaper trans may have been abused. Given the costs involved in swapping and the fact you don’t want another breakdown as you are sometime in hard to reach places, I would go for the other options.

    Cracked intercooler pipe

I can’t help with the removal but I would use silicon type ducting for the intercooler, they have some flex to avoid this kind of issues.

(URGENT) Broken auto gearbox in Arabian peninsula

Well at least you’re in the right part of the world to source a second hand gearbox ! The key point is to purchase one for the correct model year (the early 100 have a different box from the later and they arent interchangeable). What was the mileage / kms on the Box ? What is the year of your...
