You might want to see if a pump rebuild kit is available. I recently rebuilt the pump on one of my 2UZ's, it was stupid simple and the OEM Toyota rebuild kit was only $40.
It was super easy for mine since all I needed was 12v power (battery voltage and GPS meter). Any other gauge will require a bit more work getting the wiring up there from the engine bay.
I had the trailer harness short out. It kept blowing fuses -- brake lights, running lights, turn signals.
Check the fuses. If they keep blowing, check the trailer harness/plug at the rear.
The problem turned out to be, as others suggested, the trailer light controller. I thought I disconnected it but it was only the side going to the trailer connector. When I cut the wires coming from the car the problem went away. Now to find a...
same thing happened to my 98 tacoma , winter driving , lots of salt on the road. i removed the module and the problem went away. hope it works out for you.
Thanks to all that responded, especially Sean! I went out (in the cold) and unplugged my trailer harness and plugged the factory harness back in and everything is WORKING FINE, now! Thanks, again! ;) I love this board!
