    Ebrake cable. Rear axle bolt.

It was a while back, but nobody answered him, so..... The numbers on the diagram correspond to headers on the corresponding parts listing. As the diagrams may be used for similar models, varying part numbers may be listed under that heading. Sometime they just use the full part number. But...

I think there’s something wrong with my front differential

I can only think of one reason. The CV axle was defective or was not installed properly and the c-clip did not secure the knurled shaft properly. The shaft started to slip out until the driving force was applied only to the small section at the end, snapping it off. If you get all the pieces...

    2000 4Runner rust check?

Also suggest you take a screwdriver and probe up inside the lower rear control arm bracket and see if the bottom of the frame is solid on the inside of the bracket. Water can pool inside the frame there and rust it from the inside out until that bracket just falls off. Ask me how I know.

    4runner rear hatch window question

Also examine the harness that goes from the liftgate to the body. Years of flexing leads to shorts and breaks that cause much weirdness in liftgate functions.

    Newly purchased 04 4runner Code P0420 & P0430

My guess is the seller reset the codes before the sale to turn the MIL off. As it takes a while to work through the emissions drive cycles to complete the tests it took a few days but the codes came back, as I am sure he knew they would. Always take a code reader to a used vehicle before a...

Complete cooling system flush for tacoma (3.4 V6 5VZ-FE)

On the 3.4L V6 there is, passenger side forward of the motor mount. Loosen bolt at blue arrow and coolant flows out nipple at red arrow. Put a small hose on it.

    Steering rack bushing replacement

I think you misread his question, Ray. He was asking if you need to remove the tires, not if you need to install the kit. For me, I saw no reason to pull the tires and things went just fine with them on. Might help with pics.

HELP NOW! MAF, Plugs, no start, flashing lights

I'm guessing alarm issue. Very weird set of symptoms. Have you had the battery unhooked before?

what does a flashing CEL mean when driving?

Duane, I just read back in this thread, and I don't see that you have tried new plugs, or even looked at the old ones. Did I miss something? Looking at the old plugs is important. New plugs should be double electrode OEM spec NGK or Densos. I can't believe a dealer wouldn't change them first...

what does a flashing CEL mean when driving?

This is a waste spark ignition. This means the coil fires both plugs at the same time when either ONE of them is at top of compression. it is a series circuit, so power flows through the wire to the far plug, then across the gap, through the block, across the other gap and back into the coil...

AAMCO Blew my engine while test driving it after a repair

I can't imagine anything AAMCO could have done to cause it to throw a rod other than to deliberately red-line it for an hour or two. Or bypass the rev limiter and max her out for a while. Sometimes stuff happens.

    99 Runner door buzzer

Yeah, as Ray said, the '99 tall was I believe, 2" taller than the 2000 which was the shortest version. Not all '99's got the tall springs--some were shorter. When I bought it in May of '99 it was getting really hard to find a 5-speed. The dealer didn't have any and claimed he didn't know what...

5VZ V6 4runner fuel filter write up with pics

Here is what the 3G FSM says to do (page SF-3). Same effect either way and your way looks easier. I think the leave it overnight with cap off is a valid alternative, however.

5VZ V6 4runner fuel filter write up with pics

Good job. I am not wild about dry-firing the injectors, however. I can't say with authority that it is bad, but I'd still rather not. I just parked the truck where I was going to do the work the night before and loosened the gas cap. The next morning there was no real pressure and I lost the...
