Thanks for that I messsaged him, he’d never heard of the 60 series cable locked diffs, would have loved to ship it over to him to have a look at, but freight from Aussie to AZ would insane
Yea 325 Australian for rear locker, front locker, long spline front axle and front housing with 1x cv.... haha
I feel like I got the deal of the century. Front should be an easy install, rear will take some time getting the axel made up.
No cables or levers, but I’ll be adding a little eBay...
Thanks for the tip mate, I guess it will be pretty clear where to grind when I try and fit it in? Just on the mating flange to thin it out? (I would also need to trim a bit of the gasket) or some material out of the actual housing
Good tip on installing locked. Makes perfect sense, but totally...
I think I just scored a deal of the century, saw a guy selling a front cable locker for the 60 for $325. Went to pick it up and he threw in a rear as well! Front is in a housing, and rear had been laying out in the rain, but I gave it a wire brush last night and turned out better than I...
I’m changing the front wheels, so I hit my 4wd button as I pulled up my drive to lock the front axel (probably unnescisary anyway... but don’t want it rolling away) I probably drove 2 meters in 4wd.
Going to leave to pick up dinner, started it up, clicked the 4H button off, and rolled it back...
Legend! Thanks for that. I’ll split the shroud - should have done it when I did the rad. I’ll just press a box end wrench flat and weld a longer handle on - good tip! Thanks!
Sorry to reserect this old thread - but are you guys doing this without removing the radiator?
I put in a new radiator not that long ago, and am doing the FC this weekend. Would rather not remove the radiator if possible, save some coolant.
Hey guys,
So I've replaced the starter last week - big difference having a starter that fully engages the flywheel, a pleasure to start.
But since then - have had a few new issues come up - coincidence or causality I'm not sure!
1. The key doesnt engage the starter half the time - but the...
I'll give it a try mate - weird how it's engaging for a couple cranks then dropping out... maybe it's not plunging the whole way so the teeth arent engaging fully.
When I get home I'll give it a good crack and try again. Any tips for rebuilding the starter?
Hey guys,
This morning when I went to leave for work the old girl wouldn't go. Turned over a few times and then "whirrrrrr" of the starter not engaging the flywheel. Tried a few times, same result. Chug chug chug and then whiiiiiirrrrrrrrr.
I assumed low battery (had charged it a couple nights...
Thanks for the tip mate! I'll pass it on and see if the guys are interested - wasn't intending to post an ad as much as sharing that I've added the 60 to the work website!
