Rubber pads for Brake and Clutch pedal

HI Does anyone know of a source for replacement brake and clutch pedal pads? It's a 1971 FJ40. A part number for an after market pad would really help. I did a forum search and found nothing. Thanks John

Need Advice on FJ...Automatic vs Manual Transmission

I own a 6M. It is not full time four wheel drive like a couple of the posts claim. It has a transfer case which will supply power to the front wheels if selected (either 4h or 4L) by the driver. It does not have "locking hubs". Locking hubs allow you to lock or release the wheels from front...

Wanted 1fz cylinder head. Rebuilt or rebuildable seattle wa

Unsolicited advice: Retorque the head. If that doesn't work pull the head and have a look at it. It has to come off anyway. If the head gasket was worked on recently it might be that it was just a bad repair. Then check the head to see if it can be salvaged. You probably should do the...

Threads on the Intake Manifold on a 71

I know the BPS is also tapered. The small holes on manifold are tapered and the 1/8" NPT will go in a couple of threads and then bind. I went back and checked the specs. The BPS is 28 tpi and the NPT is 27. My bad. The tread count on the manifold is 28 so I am betting it is BPS. I have not...

FJ40, Cali Smog :( Chevy Small block TBI

Welcome to the future. In the Peoples Republic of Washington State they have been edging toward adopting the Cali rules and regs in total. I suspect there are a lot of state governments that look at the Cali regs with envy.

Threads on the Intake Manifold on a 71

Hi I am replacing a cracked intake manifold. It has a couple of fittings threaded into it. The replacement manifold had the fittings removed and I was just going to replace them. The fittings in the old one are really stuck. Fittings with NPT threads don't quite fit and I suspect they are...

Parting Out 70 and 67 FJ40's Almost everything there on both

I need an exhaust manifold for a 71. The one from the 70 will fit. Maybe you have one in the pile of parts.

    Wanted  FJ40 Exhaust Manifold for a 1971

Hey Does anyone have a spare cast exhaust manifold they are willing to sell? Not interested in headers. Don't need the intake, just the exhaust. Just need something that is reasonably flat, not cracked and will fit a '71. I can handle the clean up and sand blasting. PM me if you have one...

    Horrible Ride...

Nice truck. I did not take the time to read all six pages of the tread so forgive me if this has been covered. The leaves of the spring need to slide over each other. If they were assembled with the paint tacky or if they corroded the will not slide and spring assembly will be a lot stiffer...

    Cracked intake manifold

They may turn to gold someday. You never can tell what people will want in 20years. I did talk to Pardion and we have a deal in the making. Much better route than trying to repair the old one.

Fuel Pump Compatability; Ease of replacement??

One other thing that I have successfully tried on an 850 Fiat with chronic junk in the carb issues is to get up to freeway speed when its warm and pull the choke. It seemed to flush out the jets. It did improve the idle and the high speed until the next episode. You might give it a try both...
