Aux light wiring question Hella 500s

I thought about this some more and retested my work... Now, I'm at the stage, that if the lights are off, I have to manually turn off the aux lights. But, if the lights are on, then the aux lights work as intended, off when the low beams are on, one when the high beams are on. So not perfect...

Aux light wiring question Hella 500s

If I disconnect what I've done, both sides of the high beam plug go directly to ground, so that's why, the aux relay triggers when the lights are off. I would think that since it's ground switched, the high beams would not go to ground until the switch is turned on.

Aux light wiring question Hella 500s

By the way, I'm not connected to 87A, the relay definitely triggers when I turn on low beams and off when I select high beams

Aux light wiring question Hella 500s

I'm am struggling with this... I can't get this to work. I have terminal 86 running to a switch. I have a wire running from the high beam to the switch. If I connect to one wire of the high beams, the aux lights are always triggered (assuming the aux switch is on). If I connect to the other...

    Electrical Engineer question...

The ditch lights are LED and I was going to use LED spots as well. If the diode's will generate a lot of heat, maybe it is worth it to use relays. It would just mean that I have a total of 4 relays powering the ditch lights. I'll have to redesign my fuse/relay board to handle more relays, but...

    Electrical Engineer question...

This is what I'm thinking Yes, there are more wires than that on the relays, but the triggers would come from hi-beams or turn signals and then the power to the lights are the wired coming out of the tops of the relays.

    Electrical Engineer question...

I don't want to energize the time delay relays... those work exactly like I want. In addition to the lights being powered on with the time delay relays. I want the lights to power on with the highbeams. I could energize the relays with the highbeams also, but since they are time delays, they...

    Electrical Engineer question...

I was going to do it this way: I was going to add a third relay triggered by the high beams and have a big diode on the connection to the lights. If I trigger the time delay relays, when I turn the high beams off, the ditch lights would stay on for 1-2 seconds after I turn off the high beams...

    Electrical Engineer question...

I have an auxiliary fuse/relay tray I've made for my '97 LX. I added it to have a clean place to do any extra wiring. That way, I have easily accessible fuses for add-on circuits for things like, underhood lights, backup lights, fogs, and I also have cornering lights. The way the...

    Oil pan re-seal

I have permatex ultra black "maximum oil resistance" gasket maker. Should I hold off until I get Toyota FIPG 103?

    Oil pan re-seal

I'm planning on resealing the oil pan on my '97 LX starting this afternoon, I've searched for a good writeup, but haven't found one, but based on what I've read, I need to extend the front suspension. I bought bigger jackstands so I can lift the frame up and get the front suspension extended...

plug and hose in right rear taillight compartment

What is the 8 wire plug in the right rear tail light compartment? I was replacing my broken trailer wiring converter box and saw that. There is also a clear hose back there, but it's not the rear washer.
