    FJ60 SOA finished... now what?

Well I sold Squatch to a guy from Cal. Ill let him identify himself. He seems like he will give it a good home. He says he will keep up this thread with future builds and adventures of "the Squatch" I hope he does. He says he will drop in a V8 with an automatic and Danna 60's. I wonder if he...

    FJ60 SOA finished... now what?

Well its been a few years of build now. Runs and drives great on the road, will climb trees off road, comfortable for camping couldn't be happier. The exocage is not finished and little things I never quite got to but its a solid rig now. But! I lost my job, its costing me to store every month...

There is a 7 degree difference. This might be too much.

    FJ60 SOA finished... now what?

I have had transfer case noise and vibration since installing OME heavy duty springs in the rear, so I am now adding a double Cardan joint in the rear to help this out. Does anyone make a double Cardan joint with FJ60 bolt pattern? In addition I had to remove my anti wrap bar as it was binding...

    FJ60 SOA finished... now what?

I have had a second thought about putting more gear on the roof. My friend has a Samari with ski racks bolted to the hood that holds his axe and shovel. This works out great. I am now looking for some cheap used ski clamps to bolt to my hood for my axe, shovel, and bow saw.

Now That I own this truck, named it "Squatch, and put about $27K into it I would love to know more about its history. If anyone knows where it has come from, who did any mods to it before I bought it, what trails it has seen, etc. I would love to know. If anyone has before and after photos Id...

I hear you about the tire. One of my goals is after a long day of wheeling is to be able to park, crawl into the back and go to sleep. maybe stretch a tent over the rear end at most. I want to avoid the set up and tear down of camp every night. In addition I have a large 3500 watt inverter, two...

Thanks. I've even seen a BBQ that plugs into a receiver hitch. But then again I have the fold down shelves in the back for BBQ & stove & water container etc.

The vise is plugged into a receiver hitch in the front and is removable. I am building the truck in a friends side yard outdoors so the vise has been heavily used during the build. No garage build here just less muddy than the trail. The front receiver hitch is used for all kinds of things...

I agree about the weight but the tire is just too huge to put anywhere else and it does have an aluminum rim to keep weight down. Inside space is precious to me. As far as the rest not that heavy and since I am 6'5" reaching the roof is easy for me. I had to drop the seat by 4" and move it back...

Went for a shake down run to Walker Valley. Brakes went out, motor mount broke, and found a whole page of things to fix. They are mostly all fixed now except the brakes. I have all the parts just need a nice day to finish.

Yes - Keep in mind I am not the same person that started this thread. He bought it in chellan and I bought it later south of Mnt Rainer. For me I have a plan and its an expedition camping rig. Others will go faster or rock crawl better or mud deeper. I will bring with me the luxuries of home and...

I have front and rear sway bars now. I extended the sway bar links so at full twist I only loose 1in. of travel. The sway bars really help off road when your on a side hill they lower your center of gravity and eliminate body roll. After all this is a camping rig not a rock crawler.

I have the stock F&R sway bars installed. It feals much safer now. I have a 2 cyl electric compressor with a small tank but its not installed yet. One thing at a time. My buddy has a 84 FJ60 with SOA, 35's, ARB F&R, and a warn winch. Reminds me of yours.
