I am probably going to put my order in pretty soon for one of these. Do you have any plans to make a mount for a 5LB propane tank? That would be amazing! :D
The idea of having it modular so you can keep adding mounts/accessories to it is just brilliant! Great work!
@jmlockwood Just read through your whole build thread and I am so amazed/in awe by the progress and attention to detail on your 80. Just incredible.
I sold my '82 BJ42 5+ years ago and haven't been on Mud since really. I got a '94 FZJ80 2 years ago. Finally back in a Land Cruiser; so happy...
I have thought about storing it for sure. Not knowing how long I'll be gone has me worried though. It'll be one less thing to worry about while I am gone.
I've had someone asking about frame and engine serial numbers so I thought I would post them here too. I am not sure what information you...
Thanks Rob. Plans have indeed changed; so unfortunately I need to sell the cruiser. Moving to Squamish for the summer, Alaska roadtrip in July and traveling/backpacking this fall!
I did start a FS thread here on MUD too!

I've been toying with the idea of how to keep it but once I move I won't have parking for it...only street parking. Currently I have secure underground parking so it is great. Plus, once I start traveling this fall it'll be sitting for who knows how long.
:( Yeah, unfortunately it's time to part ways. I'm going to be moving away and going traveling. Won't be able to keep it whilst doing that.
I started a for sale thread here on MUD too:

I did not think I would ever sell my Land Cruiser, but plans change, so I am unfortunately putting it up for sale. I am moving to Squamish July. 1st and will not have any secure parking for it; I'll only have street parking. I'll then be heading on a road trip to Alaska during that last two...
I took the 42 on a little adventure this past weekend. There is a branch FSR from the Squamish Valley FSR that I saw on google maps; I've been wanting to check it out for some time. I've been looking for a new route to Mt. Cayley and was hoping this FSR would take me to a better starting point...

I am planning on heading up the Squamish Valley Saturday morning. Going to check out some FSRs and probably do some hiking/exploring while I am up there.
The dock fire/toxic fumes have me thinking twice, but seems the air quality is okay now up there.
Hi Rudi,
Back when I tested the voltage with the VR disconnected (for post #48), I initially disconnected the VR first then started the engine, it didn't want to start though. It just cranked over a few times until I turned the key back off. I reconnected the VR and she fired right up...
I checked out the voltages with the VR disconnected.
At idle: 25.6v
Rev'd up (doesn't matter how much): 25.6V - stays the same as if it's still at idle.
EDIT: When I re-plug the VR back in the voltage (+B stud to negative battery), will steadily raise back up to 30.8v.
Hi Rudi,
I checked the voltages at the locations that you listed. All read zero volts. :)
I noticed that when I first started the truck up, the voltage from the +B stud to the battery was 24.6V then steadily increased to 30.8V where it now stops and stays at.
